A light dusting here this morning. Less than the last few mornings.
My fear for this cold spell is the the cold is not cold enough of the PPN just not intense enough.
Feels like its always happening tomorrow....
The first shower delivered a light rain / snow granule mix. Eased off now.
Temp 0.3. Dew point still -1.6.
This could make for some very slippery conditions.
-2°c earlier. Now -0.1°C. Dew point still below at -1.6°C.
A few rumbles of thunder. Skies cloudy to west, stars still visible to east. No precipitation as yet.
The models tend to want to bring back westerlies though don't they?
Time will tell!
A chilling night out there. My station showing -2.1°c now. Dew point -3.6°c.
Widely -3c across a good bit of Carmarthenshire tonight.
A pretty impressive evening of thunder, lightning, hail and then snow here.
Lightning so wild it kept knocking out the power. Hope for more snow showers overnight.
A bit of an unexpected covering last night. Stuck on grass and over hills. Froze hard too despite a breeze.
You just can't tell what's around the corner!
It was a cold start here when the rain came. 4°C by mid afternoon rising to a balmy 10°C over 4 hours. In Haverfordwest similar sort of increase 6°C up to 11°C by mid afternoon.
Extremely windy now this evening.
This thread is really slow!
How are we going to get some more posts! Wind is pretty gust now, a few short rain bursts here. Expected a little hail maybe. But just short, sharp rain.
Where are you getting ghese from? How accurate are they?
Pretty gusty down west tonight.
Cleddau Bridge shut to high sided vehicles, windier than predicted.
Jan 2013 was good here too. Over a foot of snow and it seemed to snow for days.
Had some sleet last year for a short time and a morning or two with a dusting over the highest hill.
A good frosty start this morning. Crisp and clear. First frost where I am.
The Wales thread is back!
I noticed how many trees still have leaves on them on my way to work earlier. Suppose it's been much milder and less windy than last year.
So do we reckon, mild wet and windy pre Christmas then a switch to something more seasonal?
Sounds like a good idea.
Whilst there is an affinity between Wales and the Westcountry and in sharing similar weather patterns - it's not so easily done with the Midlands(!).
Just an opinion for future reference!
