  2. Topography is to blame for that - my Geography isnt perfect but pretty sure its the Pennines doing there thing, with good support for much less ppn or a ppn 'shadow' over Manchester
  3. Shaky, i thing there should be a swear box for everytime you say 'Midlands' Cold air is flooding back in on the 18z, Sunday is a day of Snow showers for the South with perhaps something more persistant moving into the SE ...
  4. Colder uppers also further south on 18z than 12z by Sun 7am 12z 0c isotherm straddling IOW - Cardiff 18z Normandy - Exeter - Swansea.
  5. 14:25 today from Fergie "Latest from Exeter: concerns re potential for another "significant snow event.... with drifting and blizzards" most likely days 9-10. Potential further south, too."
  6. As if by magic the Met-O's potential snow event seems to be arriving on cue...
  7. Once again, another amazing ECM run so far, the level of cold surrounding us is phenomonal, no worries about lack of cold air to tap! With the last cold shot, the cold air was 'upgraded' (progged colder) nearer to the event we got, i wonder if this could happen again, when was the last time we had -8 uppers nationwide in April?
  8. Ian, do you have any updates with regards to the Sunday/Monday potential for snowfall further south that you hinted at a couple of days ago?
  9. 'That met-office forecaster' - Presume you are referring to our netweather celebrity Ian Fergusson? And his actual quote was 'Latest from Exeter: concerns re potential for another "significant snow event.... with drifting and blizzards" most likely days 9-10. Potential further south, too.' 'Potential further south, too' - Not just for the South! Anyhow, thats a long way away yet. Edit: Also, saw an interesting fact today that the AO has hit -5.2 today, making it the second lowest March value on record!
  10. Woops! Well, because i am a southerner, and to me the north is cold so if its cold down here, its colder up there But in all seriousness, i was referring to everywhere on that chart! sorry!
  11. At 162 even in the low out in the West Atlantic can't believe the synoptics the GFS is showing (Just a bit of humour..)
  12. Very cold windchill Sunday morning across the Midlands, and well, everywhere!
  13. Obviously GFS PPN totals and signals cant be trusted completely at this range, but better to use the 0.5 more detailed version, as exciting as your chart looks, mine for the same time crushes that
  14. -4 line has taken a small hike south on the 18z comparing lunchtime thursday, 12z had it stradling Bristol, along the M4 and into brighton, 18z takes it over to the IOW from Swansea. Small, incremental shifts south.
  15. Quite definately the wintryest - interesting to see. 192 - snow edging into the SW?
  16. I think regardless of what the end of the week throws at us - we have on thing to marvel at currently, and that is that for the first time this winter (i think) we finally have a Greenland High! wooo.
  17. The fax says yes to channel low part 2 updated 120hr fax Sticks with raw output!
