  1. How are you holding on to the sun?! Satellite shows almost all of Southern NW England under cloudcover
  2. Give it another hour. Solar noon is around when it'll burn most off. It's starting to break here now with sunny spells. I have faith yet! Take it! My tan is in need of another top up
  3. If that cloud stays away, I think the English record will go today, 34.1C with 5 hours of heating left to go? It's a given..
  4. Looking at sat24, it's here for the day, how unfortunate. The regional record would of been smashed today too
  5. 28.2C and overcast unfortunately. I think that's put a lid on any convection. Hopefully the sun will burn it off before lunch time
  6. Sun burned the cloud off. It's now 29.8C and absolutely scorching.
  7. Surprise surprise ITS GONE FREAKING CLOUDY You know it comes to something when the sun a week past the solstice can't burn off some high level developing cloud. It's roasting tho, but now I can't sunbathe -.-
  8. Feels bloody roasting out there! 23C with long sunny spells. Now this feels like summer!
  9. Not necessarily. The ensemble you've posted has the 10C isotherm over much of the UK, that translates to fantastic temperatures throughout almost all of England & Wales. Low 30's no, low-mid 20's? Yes!
  10. Rain? What's that hahah! Sunny and almost 20C
  11. A few drops of rain fell this morning. Not even enough to wet the path. Looking at the radar it seems we're going to avoid the rain. I'd be annoyed if this was snow though, haha!
  12. The high already looking a little further north and east on this run, as well as looking a little stronger. Thursday's temperatures just got a nice little boost, this could be a good run.
  13. I can't see the sun now as I'm in work. But what does it matter where the clouds are as long as they're not obscuring the sun? Where I am near Heath Park, I could see hardly any clouds, just a few fair weather cumulus taking advantage of the non-existent high pressure cap. Liverpool airport is directly on the estuary and exposed to the NW'erly winds more so than we are. It'll naturally be cooler. The actual temperature is a few Celsius above that. I'm not saying it's hot by any means. But put your thermo in the sun. You'll see it shoot to over 40C. 1) Yes I sunbathe without a shirt 2) I'm not discussing my bills with you. 3) it's a little over 16C outside, that's not a low temperature.
  14. Not at all, I respect my elders. But as I sit outside and browse the web enjoying the sunshine, you're complaining about a summer that's not to be, when it's already happening outside. I'm not having a go, I'm just saying, you might as well get out there and enjoy it whilst you can. It's scorching in the sun today, a very usable and unusually settled Sunday.
  15. In regards to the thermal lag effect: A very interesting theory, and it's evident that it's true, with the warmest ever UK temperatures being recorded in August, but almost every August I can remember since 2003 have been absolutely shocking. So we are well overdue a good one.
  16. Thanks man looks like the average there would be 5-7C. That'll make for a lovely warm day given the cloud stays away. For the Cheshire area, 18C forecasted by the Met seems a little low should the 850's make it into that slightly higher category. I'm going to reserve a guess right now also saying the min/max ensembles May of also undercooked it. Plenty of time for a shift towards those higher members too, hopefully they won't slip further. But I can't see it
  17. Stop moaning and look out of the window at the crystal clear blue skies. I live in Runcorn too and I'm sat sunbathing. Yes it's not hot but get over it. We have all summer.
  18. There were some visible last night here too! But they didn't even come close to these which I captured last July
