  1. Well after 14 hours of sleet/snow we got a total of 2cm (only on the grass and cars), not what I expected given the warnings but this is Dorset, I'll be so happy when all this cold has gone away, then I may be able to get back to normality. The stress is unbearable, I keep putting life on hold at the slightest threat of snow only to be let down every time. I Know it's only the weather but I love the snow, I may have to bite the bullet and move, Kent is a nice place, they do well for snow and the summer storms. In the meantime I'll just have to dust off the 4x4 and and put the big chunky mud tyres to the test by paying Dartmoor Matt a visit at the weekend if it hasn't thawed out by then.
  2. I'm in winterborne whitechurch and the sleet has turned to snow but no covering on the ground yet.
  3. I hope so, looking at the radar the main band hasn't hit us yet
  4. Keep ya snowdowm. Ours is about to go faulty, sleet starting to turn to snow  Temps still falling slowly 1.0c now.
  5. Still bits of sleet falling here, temp is 1.4c and very slowly falling.
  6. Starting to turn to light snow here, slightly more in land though, give it time. Temp has dropped from 2.0c to 1.1c in the last 20mins.
  7. Light sleet/snow blowing around in the wind here in Blandford. Current temp 2.0c and was been all day, wind increasing.
  8. The precipitation rate seems to be increasing as it travels up the channel with some heavy looking echos heading towards Dorset, we could get I real hammering if this continues.
  9. Here's hoping, maybe we can get a covering up here in land
  10. Current temp here in Dorset is 1.8c and dropping very slowly, expecting to drop a bit more later. Looking like this is going to be an interesting day of radar watching. Remember to keep ya reports coming in, I'll be updating temps ect from my neck of the woods as the day progresses
  11. I think it has been downgraded but mainly because of all the uncertainty surrounding it. GFS hasn't downgraded it and they maybe downgrading it after the mess they made on Sunday. Just keep an eye on the radar
  12. Wow, where have all the fellow Dorset folk sprung from...lol. I head for Maiden Castle in Dorch after a good snow fall There is far to much wrist slitting in here tonight, I don't think there will be massive amounts but I think we will get a good covering. don't read to much into what people a saying, most of it is going to be down to what the models are saying in the morning and now casting I'm afraid.
  13. In fairness I do think you have had your fair share compared to us down here, I've only seen a few measly flakes this winter. You even had a small top up last night that went round us AGAIN. Stop being so greedy and let some of us have some fun
  14. Really wouldn't take much to hit Dorset worse than last week  We only need 2cm to beat last weeks snow falls.
  15. I do hope your right, We have been so unlucky and it's getting ridiculous now. I even got excited over the sleety drizzle we had today.
  16. Ha that's ok, it's getting so not funny now, it really is becoming funny I still have the odd patch on the grass to look at though
  17. Nice to see the usual folk are getting another snow fall whilst us Dorset lot just sit back in envy again, Dorset snow shield still holding strong. Keeping my fingers crossed my half a cm to be topped up on Tuesday hopefully
  18. My thoughts exactly, looked out the window to find half a cm on the roof of my car that has now started to melt as the temp is 0.5c!!!! No hope from looking at the radar either with all the ppn having passed us Looks to be a few showers starting to pep up over Kent and heading West, just hope this is the start of our 24 hours of light constant snow
  19. Snow getting slightly heavier now, small flakes and not dust lol.
  20. Oh thats not good, somrthing to keep an eye on I feel, didn't think things were going to be marginal though:cc_confused:
  21. Not reached above zero today, looking forward to the models this evening, hopefully shed some more light on this weekend/Mon/Tue snow. Current temp -0.9c and falling. Cloudy with the odd snow flake floating in the wind. Wind spinney thing reading constant 4mph easterly already with a wind chill of -3.2c Inside temp 20.1c sat in front of the open fire
  22. Met office starting to upgrade the warnings for S/E on Sat/Sun. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/uk_forecast_warnings.html
