Torrential tropical style large raindrops… keeps getting heavier… no thunder yet… developed just north of here but very slow moving…

Zippo here and very little lightning on the radar. Plenty of showers around.

Some nice convection here in Darley Dale, expect it will be bucketing down within the hour

There has been some short lived mammatus occasionally today, the middle level air is very cold.

Despite some hefty showers nearby that I'd usually be able to see, I can’t see them cause it’s so hazy.

Purple colours showing on the radar while these cells are basically not moving... Got a feeling flash flooding will be being reported this afternoon/evening.

wow very fierce storm over Bradford, lots of lightning as well, not to mention it is very slow moving so flooding seems very likely indeed

Looks like convergence winds is what's needed to kick off any storms for today, the current cells lining up nicely with what the xcweather obs is showing.

Strikes just north of Sherborne, outside of the Met Office' warning 😆

Looks like I picked something up

Mapantz they are seldom correct at getting it right! It looks to me like development is taking place as you have stated outside the warning area.......

We've got what looks to be a well-organised cell with possible supercellular characteristics NE of Yeovil. Two cells moving S across Bristol underwent a merge about 3:30pm and then proceeded to steer right of the mean flow across Somerset. Within the last 15 minutes it has undergone another merge and has resulted in the lightning NE of Yeovil. Anyone in the vicinity with a visual on the cell?

Two cases of constructive interference it seems, may have the potential to produce a funnel/weak tornado if it maintains organisation.

Well the sun has finally broken through here… And the temperature has sky rocketed to… 16° Celsius! 😕

Exceptionally weak and fluffy convection is the result. It doesn’t feel right for a storm for me. 🙁

So unless something exciting happens… I’m gonna call this one a bust for me.

But I’ll leave the latest rainfall radar and lightning map in the hope that they’ll be useful to other members. 👍🏻

Good luck to everyone else, and yet again, over and out from storm starved in North East Wales.
