:) Several snow flurries today here. Some were quite blustery and some with ice pellets. Melting on contact though. Edited by TyphoonNow

Average depth about 9cm now, a good base for whatever else we're in for overnight and tomorrow.

4 beefy snow showers today so far, heaviest around lunchtime, almost settled but stopped too much. Nothing lying now, but at least it fell for the 3rd day in a row.

Took a while for the showers to push through in the night, only really started snowing this morning at around 6 am but constant heavy snow showers all day have left a 10cm covering in the higher suburbs but at home at 100m, only large patches where the depth is around 3 cm. A slight dusting from a recent shower.

Yes- it seems that the showers have decided to get a push on, not only are they crossing the Pennines, they aren't even disappearing as they pass the 5-mile "Fizzling Zone" between the western Pennines and Lancaster.

This has been the first Lancaster snow shower of the easterly that I would classify as being anything more than a "light flurry", and although it's not settling, I would envisage at least a 1cm dusting accumulating if anything like this got over our way after around 8Pm.

In Derby today there was 5cm between 0600 and 1000. After that a thaw set in with only the best shaded areas having some snow left. There was still heavy snow showers all day at hourly intervals though nothing settled. The last shower however gave a slight dusting at 1700.

Just for the records we had about another 5cm of snow this morning in Hexham (at about 160m asl) probably about 12 cm lying now.
