Sky went very dark with some heavy rain- pity I can't see any cloud formations through the North Sea coastal cloud.

Just had some moderately heavy rain....very nice....with a few gusty downpours thrown in there.

You mean your shield is broken.

Hi mate

Yes just cleared here now, and as you say the wind has picked up.

I have to say having just been outside, it really is enjoyable this evening

I think it is nice and refreshing in the wind, now that the rain has gone.

Lashing it down with drizzle here :shok: Seriously though, the skies are now looking quite threatening after a thoroughly miserable day. I'm sure I heard some thunder to my south a few minutes ago

Must be quite misty/foggy up on the higher rotes as looking at tall building the mist thickens. Bit of mist here on lower levels aswell.

For a good couple of hours before the heavy rain set in here, Arthur's Seat (at 251m behind my house) was shrowded in thick mist with a flat base about half-way up. It's quite a daunting sight in these circumstances and worthy of record in August!

It is unusural for this time of year and the only mist should be forming is from low cloud scnarios, certainly not summery weather and shows Autumn is around the corner.

Miserable day here but not very windy and just heavy drizzle most of the day, nothing to write home about just rubbish for August.

Its dynamic rainfall...not convective.

PP's shield is working full strength even destroying the dynamics now..!! :shok:

Had a couple of heavy showers today. Wind no more than a light breeze. Been a miserable day for August though.

Been very heavy for most of the day, what was more noticable was the lack of any breeze, with all the warnings out for gales i was getting a bit worried as my 10yr old son is flying back from Spain tonight after a month out there and i was worried that the flight may have been delayed or cancelled...but as it turned it out his flight is due in on schedule(i can't wait to see him) :shok:
