Hasnt been much rain around, drizzly enough, but nothing najor. One thing that it certainly is not though is Autumnal. The temperature is 17C out there, which in itself in quite warm in summer rainbands - so it feels quite warm and humid. Although the Autumnal feel will no doubt occur through the next few days.

Morning everyone ;)

Not such a bad morning here, after some overnight rainfall, with only a slight breeze and temps

of around 15c.

As KW and J.H. have mentioned the best is to come yet as the main feature hasn't arrived

yet. I'm looking forward to this to see how it all pans out :)

The first phase is starting to creep up the Channel towards us now. Heavy rain in Mid Sussex (work) and moderate winds (can't give you specific data) with winds gusting to 35 MPH now, back home near to the coast. Suspect it will get a bit rougher later today into tomorrow but I don't think it will hit 50 MPH.

Can't see anything the Channel of note. Interesting bit of weather moving towards Northern Ireland though. It's a case of come out come out where ever you are.

How would you see that low tracking John? Is it going to come straight west to east or it will it come around and up the channel / French coast?

as I posted a bit since, can't remember the post number but into se Eire then across somewhere near Ronaldsway and up into east Scotland and thence out to around Shetland.

But no doubt I'll be modifying as time goes on!

Re the radar and the area shown by Shannon.

I've no idea why but their radar is quite often not very sequential, so wait until the rain starts to show up on the UK radars for a batter view on how the next rainfall is moving.

Had 28mm of rain or so today. Just drizzle now though.

Looks like you`ve had 1 inch then.

Overhyped so far just light patchy rain here amounting to 5mm(0.2inches) :good:

And a gentle S-ly maybe moderate at times.

Slowly becoming somewhat brighter from the south as this light drizzly stuff has stopped and it feels muggy.

turned a bit nasty here in exmouth as well

http://www.exmouthcam.co.uk/webcam.htm

Thank again Pete  I already new about that particular one, which I think is rather good.

I'm going to be spoilt for choice and won't know what to watch :good:

it is good IMO that we have something to watch rather than boring sunshine, which

is nice but not exactly exhilerating, unless it sparks off some nice convection and storms. :)

Hope that you enjoyed it

My little son is outside splashing around in all the puddles today :) Who needs sunshine

in summer :)

Amazing Gloom and Doom forecast from the Beeb just now. She sounds like half the country has been blown away or washed away. So far anything but stormy just a damp miserable day. The rain belt is expected to strengthen over the Northern part of England later on. For us it's looking a none event just annoying gloomy day.

tell that to one third of the people in the Fastnet race, 98 out of about 300 have already retired from the race. I just hope it does not turn into a version of 1979. It does not look anything like as bad as that storm so fingers crossed.
