I wish you luck Rodger.

For us just a damp drizzly day. Heavier rain forecast for this afternoon didn't turn up either. Wind wise this was never going to effect us. Out of interest anywhere had up 50mph???

just Alderney so far, a number with over 40mph

updated chart shown earlier with the lows position at 1600 BST.

Seems spot on track at the moment, starting to turn as it should.

We have had gusts of 35-40mph, it has rained all day, but not as much as I had feared thankfully, up to now at least :)

Looking forward to getting the sun back before winter sets in :)

Not much happening down here, had some fairly heavy rain this morning but it's been drizzly since. The winds have been nothing more than a fresh breeze either, so far.

Funnily enough - just cloudy and humid with a breeze after overnight rain but nothing near as bad as what was forecasted at all!

There seems to be an intensifying pulse of rain heading up the Irish Sea into NW England at the moment.

I can confirm that, very dire visibility in the heavy rain. It's quite fine though, it quite resembles a tropical rain shower rather than the more beefy raindrops we're used too. I think this intensifying rainband is also rocketing humidity levels, and sustaining the warmth in the air. Very close and muggy, especially in the rain - takes me back to a similar, but warmer occurrence a good few years ago.

There seems to be the emergence of some flowers that werent there last night too!, I imagine their emergence will be rather shortlived, however, as cooler air starts to invade come tomorrow.

I guess that's the one mentioned by the Beeb at Lunch time. Good prediction by the Met. One or two beefy showers moving towards the Isle of White at the mo as well.

Looks like an area of convergence there as well.

Clearing nicely here now and the warmest part of the day at 17.8C and rising. Me thinks we're in the warm sector somehow.

Its like autumn here this evening, really dark (needed the lights on at 6pm!), damp and drizzly with a strong southerly wind gusting to 38mph.

Area of heavy rain close to the south coast is an area to watch this evening over southeast England, could bring some pretty wet conditions for a time.

It's a case of more drizzle here at the moment which is the

story of the afternoon really and it's nowhere near as bad as i was expecting

Heavy rain in northern england now dry and sunny at times here and humid 18.6c.. looks like more patchy rain or a few showers heading this way on the radar.

Went up into a popular campin resort today at Glenariff on the east coast and found out some certain fly species have died a month early than usual

Not just midges like http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/highla...nds/6921173.stm but really flies that usually live until the end of August. Like the black fly.

Real weird.

As for the the weather light rain and not a breeze.

It's been raining on and off all day here in not very sunny Sussex, 23 mm so far and we have just had some rumbles of thunder and it is very dark indeed. Wind is gusty and coming and going. Met Office have a Flash Warning out for this area for heavy rain tonight - 20 mm in 3 hours possible.

Rain has gotten heavier again here over the last hour or so as a new pulse emerges from the channel, seems to be moving quite quickly to the Ne it has to be said with some fairly heavy bursts in it. winds aren't that high mind you right now.
