UK Outlook for Wednesday 24 Mar 2010 to Friday 2 Apr 2010:

Remaining unsettled throughout the last week of March and the beginning of April, with most places seeing showers or longer periods of rain at times. Some drier intervals are expected too, chiefly in the north and east of the UK at first. Showers could be heavy in western areas at times and there is a continuing risk of snow over the high ground of Scotland and perhaps northern England. Wind will also be a feature for many areas, with gales possible in exposed western coastal areas at first, then more generally later on. Temperatures should be generally near normal, but it may be warm in the south at first. Northern parts may dip below normal around the end of March, with a risk of frost for some areas.

UK Outlook for Sunday 28 Mar 2010 to Tuesday 6 Apr 2010:

On Sunday 28th northeastern parts of the UK are expected to start cold but dry and bright, although locally heavy rain in the south should spread northwards during the course of the day. The rain may turn to snow on northern hills, although milder conditions should follow into southern parts. Thereafter we current expect conditions to be generally unsettled across the British Isles with either showers or longer spells of rain, some of which may be heavy, and there is a continued risk of snow on northern hills. However, southern areas may become a bit more settled during the first week of April. Temperatures, generally a bit colder than average in the north but closer to average further south, perhaps becoming slightly warmer here during the first week of April.

There is a continuing risk of frost at times in the north. Then during Easter weekend and into the following week we currently expect the weather to remain predominantly unsettled, especially in the north.

UK Outlook for Sunday 4 Apr 2010 to Tuesday 13 Apr 2010:

Remaining unsettled for the first week of this forecast period, with some brighter days with sunny spells and showers, but also cloudy, wet days as well. Further snow is likely at times over high ground in the north. Best chance of any drier weather will be over eastern and southeastern areas after the Easter weekend. For the second week of April the unsettled weather looks likely to continue, the best chance of any drier spells in the south and east with most of the rain in the north and northwest. Temperatures again only near or a little below normal for the time of year with overnight frosts still possible.

UK Outlook for Thursday 15 Apr 2010 to Saturday 24 Apr 2010:

Mainly dry, settled weather is likely during the first part of the period and although most places could be rather cloudy, there is a chance of sunny intervals developing, the best of these in the west. Chance of a few light showers in Central and Southern England, and the far north of Scotland. Winds should be generally light but may be moderate or locally strong along south-eastern coasts. Indications are that the weather will turn more unsettled after the weekend with more in the way of cloud, wind and rain in the north, and it may turn wintry on Scottish mountains. Southern parts likely to remain driest but with showers, some heavy. Temperatures are likely to vary between normal and slightly cooler than normal for the time of year.

Rain is expected to move southwards across the country on Sunday and Monday after a dry start for the south. This will be followed by showers in northern areas, turning wintry over hills, with snow perhaps falling to low levels in the far north. The unsettled theme is set to continue for most of the week then, with rain or showers for most areas, falling as snow at times on northern hills. Some clearer and sunnier intervals are expected too, however, with southern and eastern areas becoming generally drier towards the weekend. Windy at times in the north with a risk of gales. UK Outlook for Sunday 18 Apr 2010 to Tuesday 27 Apr 2010:

Outbreaks of rain are expected to move southwards across the country on Sunday, though much of this should be light. Thereafter, colder weather will spread southwards with showers for many northern and eastern areas. These are expected to turn wintry with snow over hills and perhaps also to lower levels in the northeast with some accumulations over Scottish mountains. There will be overnight frost in many places, but many western and southern areas especially, should see plenty of sunshine and stay mainly dry, with temperatures by day feeling pleasant if out of the wind. Later, a trend to less cold weather can be expected with rain or showers for western and northern areas, with mainly dry weather in the east and south where it may become fairly warm.

Mainly dry and bright at first for central areas with perhaps some overnight frosts in rural parts. However, colder in the north of Scotland with wintry showers and more widespread overnight frosts, and turning cloudier in the far south with perhaps some rain. Mainly settled at first with sunshine and a few showers for all, perhaps turning wintry over the hills in the far north. Colder here, with widespread overnight frosts, but frost is less likely further south. Eventually turning cloudier from the southwest into the weekend period with perhaps some rain moving northwards. Then, becoming more unsettled, mainly in the north and west with spells of rain, showers and sunny intervals, and occasional strong winds. However, it should remain a little drier and more settled further south and east. Temperatures becoming around normal, or rather warm in the south and east.
