Comparatively heavy snow here as well at present - easily the heaviest shower I've witnessed this year, and it's settling! Glad I'm awake for it, and long may it continue, and who knows, we may even be white over in the morning!

Weird to appear so soon after the warmest day of the year - who said British weather was boring?!

Light snow/soft hail here.

Been heavyish at times giving a slight dusting.

Couple of hours light-moderate snowfall here in North Cheshire. Looked to be covering at one point but now melted from road and pavements, possibly only 1-2 cms on suitable surfaces eg. cars. Will be better elsewhere as in town here at only 20M asl.

Only good for drunken post-pub frolics - it's wet and thawing slowly then will probably freeze later to be crunchy first thing in the morning before turning rapidly melting before breakfast, haha.

Snow, or what I would call a powder snow blizzard currently going on as I type here in Solihull. But settling on cars, grass, roofs.

Looks like another couple of hours to go of it yet if I'm guessing the Met Office radar correctly.

(I only came down from my slumber for a glass of water too. Now I'm now stuck between snow-watch or back to bed! :D )

Phil.

Snowing in Rushden since about 3am. Only light - moderate and too warm for settling at the minute, currently just above 1C with damp surfaces.

Just been woken by what was heavy hail, now moderate, occassionaly heavy snow. Starting to settle on cars and roofs. My dog's scared like he is during a thunder storm! Very distracting.....

Good covering of snow here in Gloucester - first lying snow of the"Winter" so far and probably the best for years as it was very big flakes. Probably only about 4cm in depth though, on the top of the car.

three inches here in east hertfordshire, of very unexpected snow. I was sure we wouldn't get any because late last night we had no warning from the meto and the band was meant to slip down the west side, but look it's come east and we've got the best snow of the *winter*. Temp 0.3c.
