Well fair play, it's just started snowing again, smallish flakes at the minute, getting heavier. My sister's just called from just by Mcr Airport and she says it's been heavy there the past ten mins or so.

It's such a nice change to be able to watch it during the day rather than having to lamp-post watch at night.

My little 20mth old is wondering what the heck is going on outside, lol!

This snow is before the main band predicted for today, right?

Yes these are just the showers that were forecast to spread across the country.

Been snowing here heavily for a hour and a half constantly now and just heard word that the Snake Pass is now closed to all Motorists.

Haha, still missing Warrington, awesome!

The consolation is that the GFS is hinting that the NW chances improve later and continue through the week, whereas the SE may well be milder later on.

Should be with you very soon.Heavy Snow in Northwich ATM And the Sky looks full of it

Light flurries here now, but now above freezing and not sticking where melted. Same old, same old.

light to moderate snow, been on and off all morning, we only have a bout 2inches, but lets hope that stuff for this afternoon does a really huge dumping on all of us!

why is this being ramped up for this evening? according to the gfs we'll be lucky to get sleet as that mild sector pushes in from the south east and it seems to do a pretty fast job of it or are these images wrong? http://212.100.247.145/gfsimages/gfs.20090...ctypeuktopo.png

pretty disappointing morning if i were to be honest we had one heavy shower for 10mins but pretty much nothing apart from that

It depends what is your benchmark!

This is my 3rd winter in Manchester and this is by far the best snow event i've had here.

And there'e more on the way!
