Just popped to the shop round the corner...oh the snow is lovely. I've not seen snow like it (that I recall) all soft and powdery, not crunchy or icy.

In the time I went to the shop and back my previous footprints were covered!

Paul, yep seems like the streamer is setting up stronger further west, my home location would be in the bullseye zone for this set-up. Despite that showers coverage is increase and models do suggest that this is in response to more forcing coming in from the north sea, nice little rash of showers I'm watching that seem to be developing in southern Kent...maybe a streamer near Dover!!!

A streamer would be good! I'm in Folkestone

....................according to the satelite, an area of much more dense cloud is making its way over the sea. Because the radar doesn't really pick up the precip in this area, could someone tell me whether this is where our snow is coming from for tonight?

That's what I was discussing yesterday, the potential of thunder within the snow. My idea was pretty much abolished, so I'm glad the convection kicked in with a bang.

Yep thundersnow seems very probable in such a set-up, wouldn't be all that surprised if there are some more reports coming in over the next few hours of thundersnow, very common in these streamer set-ups, rather odd to see though!

Hi all

Had one shower in Camberley in the last 20 mins which has left cars grass and side roads white, great forecast if I didn't have to travel to the Isle of Wight tomorrow!
