Fantastic.

Why do these events always happen in the middle of the night when im exhausted. Part of me thinks just go to bed and wait until the morning but the other part of me thinks why spend all those hrs looking at the models only to sleep through the event!

yeah, same thoughts here, but oxfordshire is having a good old dumping by the sounds of it, but the radar suggests the main pulse is heading straight for us up the A1

Interesting temp/dewpoint changes here

23:00 - Temp -0.1 Dew point -2.6

00:30 - Temp 0.6 Dew point -1.9

Now temp has dropped quickly to 0.2 and Dew point -1.5

Completely Dave. It's the same with our Summer thunderstorms............

I'm knackered, but am going to stay up til at least 3am to watch the unfolding scenario. These times are to good to miss mate.

Great stuff spayne, keep us updated. What is happening south of here is very important for us NW members further north. :wallbash:

Had a little snow about a half hour ago, temperature about 0C, it was settling.

Just hope that the northward advance of the milder air is held up by the colder air coming from the north - anything can happen in these situations, despite what the charts say.

As the snow is heading north, its turning heavier and more prolonged, going on the reports, and is settling, and not just turning to rain after 15 mins as we were hearing an hour ago.

This is only based on what ive read on here though.
