Is this the 'BBC Blizzard' or an actual one? Judging by some of the reports on the news there is a marked difference

Really confused about the Meto warnings, I know they are now putting every aspeect up just to cover their ar... (backsides) but its just plain bloomin confusing and it makes me cross!!

But, just goes to show, they haven't got a clue when it comes to systems like this - as shown last week.

Please can we fast forward to tomorrow now... I'm bored!

Same here, one minute its snowing, the next there is drizzle. Snow still deep tho so unless there is a downpour (probably tmrw) the snow should hang aorund, still feels mighty cold out.

Afternoon

Been raining here for much of the afternoon so far, not seen any tv forecasts today, i even missed the CF forecast which i wanted to see, but going by the comments here could be an interesting week. Myself, i'm not expecting much in this part of the world down at sea level the hills could have something though.

I don't understand MetO today though yesterday they were showing heavy snow for the Carmarthen area and Today they are showing just sleet for tomorrow night but we have a warning for heavy snow, but swansea and Pembrokeshire have heavy rain. Its got me confuzzled, not good for a Sunday.

Matt - Just looking at the amount of snow in Dartmoor which looks impressive

The weather has been strange today - We had snowflakes falling at 5.2C earlier followed by rain with sleet with the odd flake and now the temperature has fallen to 3.8C with fine drizzle!

Feeling bitterly cold out there today, some wet heavy snow, but huge flakes, nothing sticking though. 1.3c

Just started sleet/snow/raining here :D

The way to tell is sleet looks like big lumps falling fast, snow is falling gently, and rain is too small to be either and just drops straight to the ground.

Well that's the system I'm working on anyway :D

EDIT: and now it's stopped again even though radar is showing us pretty much in the middle of the ppn :/

I don`t think there`s going to be much snowfall from todays band looking at the radar, 1.2c now with light snow it will help to top up the previous snowfields though, but not much else unless theres some greens /yellows or even orange over us.

Quite heavy snow here, proper powdery stuff too, not sticking though as I think the air temperatures are too high. Probably sticking to existing snow cover though. Bodes well for tomorrow I think as the forecasts were for rain/sleet.
