Can't do with these kinds of posts, we need to remember there will be snow up until 11am, and looking at the radar now will not show what it will be like in a few hours.

I don't think he really means it, he's probably just bored of the clear window were in, i'm the same but i know we will see something, i think S.u.f.c is use to disappointment from these setups, and i can sympathize for him.

If we all still optimistic, we will all enjoy our time on here, and we certainly will do later.

Tbh i recommend most of us doing something constructive until about 9-10 pm this evening, have a few beers maybe :D?

Snowing again here :D

Hi Mark, great stuff mate.

Similar here too. The snow that's falling now is the heaviest

we've had today - the flakes are beautiful and large

Snowing again here now. Cant wait for that big batch of showers to move in :)

Very promising look north forecast two! further snow saturday night, sunday and monday :)

Seems to be a definative gap on the radar opening up with little or no showers on it - hope that fills in but can't see it which would match Look North's forecast :whistling:

Took an hour an half to get home on the bus today, there was only just a cm in town! lol, it's really pathetic really. Enjoyed the snow however, felt very christmassy coming out of college today with everything white :whistling:

As the low over the Southern N.Sea moves South, so will the shower 'train' that's currently around N.Yorks, it's a very slow process, but hopefully showers will become more widespread further south as the night progresses, the down side is the winds are expected to moderate somewhat so they won't push inland as far later on.

Yup spot on Cal,

I think we'll see showers a good 40 miles inland still.

yep. annoyingly so most of the snow is just cutting across the NW of me, the sky is very orange in that direction, snowing lightly here though.

Wilst we have a slight covering here, the shower 'train' is just to the north by a couple of miles!! Sometimes we have caught the rag ends of a train but generally it's frustrating one!

Dry and cold here showers fizzling out before they make it this far. Most likely a dry but cold night to come.

Do you think we could get something a little later?

Nice covering here now (Vale of York, 8 miles North of York). Gritted roads where starting to cover in the heavy stuff and had to drive very slowly even on main roads.

Having had a quick look at the NMM Model it appears our chances are somewhat of a double whammy at the moment, the showers will beef up in N.Yorks later :D but they will only move slowly south in the later in the wee hours of morning, along with a decreasing wind it's a sod's law for N.lincs, but we may catch the odd rogue one or two, later on sat looks ok at the moment :) .

Depends what happens as the system moves slowly south. It could be rejunvinated, or it could just slowly die out. Radar is indicating some intensification though at the moment :)

Anyone in the Scarborough/Bridlington area at the moment? Looks like some heavy snow showers are falling around there at the moment according to the radar
