Just had a really heavy show shower, can report from friends via facebook that its now snowing quite heavy in barlborough. Now just the odd flake with it clearing, should be few more showers over night so a couple of cm's possible i would have thought. What ever is on the ground now is what i have to walk to the bus stop in the morning seems as though its not going to melt biggrin.gif

Unless someone down there decides to boil a kettle of hot water and put it over the paths so instead of walking on snow, you are slipping on ice.

(bows gracefully) Good evening Lord Graupel. Hope you and Lady Graupel are well. Yes I am back and looking forward to seeing some snow, and by the look of the radar your area seems favoured :)

Evening, John, we're fine thank you :) How are you doing?

Yes, we could be in for quite a spectacular evening.

I'm all ready for the action. The fire is lit; Ive tested

my outside lights, and my security camera is fully operational

Good to hear Brian. Hope you have passed your snowman building course

Nothing much happening here though. A few wintry showers but that is all.

I am good thanks, and happy :)

If this comes off I would say you have called this pretty well Lewis TBH mate - we have a covering now after a 10 minute heavy shower bang on hometime ! :cold:

I popped to morrisons on Holderness Road and when i came out they was a rather heavy shower, didn't look like it had settled until i got out of the car park. With paths having a lite dusting, i have a dusting also.

Only 6PM! The old cold air is now well and truly with us, lets hope we have a successful lamp post watch tonight :) Oh.. and of course radar watch.

btw can anyone send private messages, it says I don't have permission to send them :S

A light snow shower has just blown through, and hopefully a heavier one will hit soon :)

Poor soon, does he deserve to get hit? :cold:

Evening mate. Hope we have a taste of the action snow-wise tonight :)

In Leeds most of the day, there was on and off snow in Leeds Center for an hour, but not really heavy enough to give a covering, there was lying snow on the cars in Leeds and the trees had snow on. When i caught the train home there was progressively more snow the further out of the suburbs, at home there is 2-3cm of lying snow on all surface, the roads have a light covering and was caught in a heavy snow shower with big 5op flakes.

Hopefully I'll see 5-10cm by morning.

That rather more organised band that I spoke about earlier over North Norfolk seems to be heading for the Boston area. And it is still growing.

Several showers in Leeds which have left about a 1/2cm covering in the suburbs. Some nice looking showers to come according to raintoday.

Yeah, several showers here in Morley..nice dusting. Would like to see a nice beefy shower!!

Thought, since many of us will be lampost watching this evening, I'd mention the

Neweather Radar which, I must say, is a valuable tool in these kind of situations.

It has many useful extras, and it's very good value for money :cold:

It's looking like game over for me, as im stuck in that gap with no sign of activity anytime soon.

It's not game over mate :shok:!! Have faith.

We always going to hit some gap with the trough N of us, and a LP pivoting to the SE of us.

Look at it as a clear window with opportunity :shok: for later that is.

Can't do with these kinds of posts, we need to remember there will be snow up until 11am, and looking at the radar now will not show what it will be like in a few hours.
