just to let everyone know about the meto warning tomorrow for our area, they mention rain sleet and snow clearing to give widespread icy roads.

Well, going by the latest gfs for our area, we have the dam line at 515-520 right until thursday...

So thickness is fine, and dew points are fine also.

So anything falling out of the sky would be snow.

Big, fat flake falling at the moment. looking at the radar, though, it would appear that the snowfall is at the final furlong for the time being :fool:

what are your thoughts on this streamer mate? looks like were slap bang in the line of it!

In Sheffield with a couple of beefy snow showers late am until leaving (Ecclesall-Botanic Gardens are) just covering floor in places-left on Parkway and on to M1-slight snow-M18 snow get heavier as we travelled down over A1 and into Doncaster, moderate almost verging on heavy briefly-sun trying to come out in Cantley now with between 1 and 2cm on the ground-temp=0.4C having been 1.9C when snow started.

On-off snow for about the last hour. Wind has really got up, and theres just been a couple lightening flashes and thunder rumbling away as well. Flakes really small now but still a high amount.

Went out to measure the snow.

Grass- 8cm

Drifts- 12cm

Paths- 5cm

Fresh snow from today- 1cm

Paths- Hard compactsnow so can't measure

Lost around 2cm from yesterdays disaster.

you think its looking good for that streamer because its lined up straight for doncaster

sky darkening again wnw of here towarda Barnsley.....looking at code S66 2 in Net weather radar looks like i' m in for some more Snow shortly

looking on the meto radar, it seems the snow is lining up in the northwest and coming and coming this way

Light snow again here. Noisy neighbours next door had to leave their car somewhere. Pity hoping they got stuck somewhere else for the holiday. :yahoo:

can anyone give a rough estimate of how long this snowy weather will last. to me with that streamer maybe until around 2 in the morning? by that time the snow will be double we have now and i already have too much because i am very greedy
