Well after 3 hours of rain with the odd sleety blob, we got some very wet snow which surprise surprise didn't stick (as it was still above freezing and the ground was by then sodden) now it seems to be dying out. All this latest "cold" outbreak has managed is to thaw out our frozen soil and leave the ground back in the state it was at the end of November. And this isn't just in Shrewsbury- just been down to Minsterley and it's the same there. Shropshire sucks again :wallbash::nonono::unknw:

Only sleet in oswestry well there was, could easily be of snow now,you won`t believe how much there`s here, have a peek at the welsh thread.

STILL pure rain here lmao. Unreal, absolutely unreal.

I guarantee that you will have fairly heavy snow by 10pm at the latest. And you will have a couple of inches by the morning so stop fretting!

Snow proper here in Coventry now, 1.0c. Just hope that back end stays over Stratford.

Nice one Serendipity - at long last eh! T'was the Strongbow that did it! Crack one open Andy - it'll get to you any minute!!!!

Still moving north on the radar at the mo - don't know when it's going to stall but it's not just yet.

Sleeting here now, at least my rampant pessimism can be tempered a bit =).

On another note, i think the key to snow/sleet here is strongbow, as i also have had some since posting last and lone behold it starts sleeting =P

Been snowing here moderately, but clearing by the looks of things. Got about a cm or 2, pretty lame.

4 inches you lucky **********! Yet your temp isn't much lower than ours; what do you do to the snow that makes it vanish once it reaches Offa's Dyke??? It's like there's a giant Welsh dragon on some Powys hilllside breathing fire at Shropshire to prevent it snowing :nonono:

We have nothing so you are lucky! Has anyone noticed the heavy showers coming up from the South. If its snow then conditions would be very nasty for a time! Front seems to be stalling a bit more now. :wallbash:

The band shouldn't leave the East Midlands unless it dies out , it has still not made much progress North of Manchester. Hopefully for Leicester it is just a waiting game , cause Hinckley is only about 91 asl and getting heavier here again with bigger flakes.

Come on people.

There seems to be a real desire for a spectacular, once in a life time snow fall. But, it takes a special set up for that, so we need to be realistic on the current set ups.

It was always marginal, but has turned out alright is quite a few places.

However, those who are getting snow (and those who claim to never get snow, yet have had it over the last week), insist on moaning how poor it all is.

Come on folks. its still raining here, and i'm really not that bothered. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Whatever you get, enjoy it. Plenty of time left for snow.

LOL it's actually turned to snow in Northampton as the front begins to clear, just as the Warks contigent alluded to earlier.

Well, nice to see a bit of falling snow but very wet indeed and not a chance in hell of settling. The ground is drenched!
