Heavy snow here now which is settling on all surfaces inclueding the road, which was gritted a few hours ago, but the rain has washed it all away.......I think we may be in for a tricky night!

And to think you were projecting one of the mildest Decembers on record for the UK!

Dear oh dear. That one was not your finest moment.

If you want to see what heavy rain looks like then come and visit Leicester.

You might as well get drunk again mate!

No thanks.

Heavy showers will give a good dumping here if they are snow. Moving up from the SW right now.

It seems the further east you are in this marginal set-up in an east wind it`s more likely to be of rain,if it was a west wind that would favour the east midlands more for snow and less for the west, thats how I`ve found it looking through these threads.

Well after 3 hours of rain with the odd sleety blob, we got some very wet snow which surprise surprise didn't stick (as it was still above freezing and the ground was by then sodden) now it seems to be dying out. All this latest "cold" outbreak has managed is to thaw out our frozen soil and leave the ground back in the state it was at the end of November. And this isn't just in Shrewsbury- just been down to Minsterley and it's the same there. Shropshire sucks again :drunk:  :drinks:

Still a sleety mixture here - the transition from pure rain to pure snow is and has taken too long - there are puddles everywhere and a heavy wintry mix falling, any accumulation chances are now OVER - event over and hype OTT as always - the rugeley affect yet again. As alwasy you'll understand my pessimism eventually guys.
