Well another Epic winters day

Never have i seen such epic winter weather all it one go.I was born in 1978

Bitterly cold day today -4 bit breezy this morning.now we have Freezing fog in dublin.

Cant imagine another cold snap for a long time will be as good as this.

Epic

Don't be so sure. Joe B'astardi (amongst others) is predicting this to become more common.

Those photos are fantastic Jello, I've never seen much more than a bucket of water freeze never mind the Lagan. I work over east Belfast so might stop off tomorrow and see what it's like on my way home.

Great stuff Jello.

Have some pics of the frozen lough in cork where the council have had to put up warning signs for people not to walk on the ice! Shall post them up later tonight or tomorrow.

Currently -4.9C here at the moment with patchy snow cover...

-3.5c here!

Had another wee skiff of snow about an hour ago which left an instant cover.

Had our grit bin filled today but don't tell anyone! :o Thieves about!

Seriously cold today. Did not get above freezing at all with freezing fog all day. Has lifted now with that shower.

Been very hard to predict what will happen. Wish the met office would just say that!

Very cool pics Jello!

Great pics Ronan. Wonder will the major rivers further south start freezing soon?

Currently -6.2C here with clear skies and light variable breezes.

Have never witnessed the River Foyle freeze over in my life time. Fantastic sight!!

River Bann is frozen over in Portadown as well, with lying snow on the ice today.

Wonderful pics folks. As JD Salinger said, "where do the ducks go in winter?"

A severe ice day today here. Freezing fog tonight. Minus 7 and falling. I feel like I'm in another world. Once in a lifetime experience for those under 30 perhaps? Considering the modern climate, that's very possible, especially if the ice decline in the Arctic continues apace.

Radar showed a nice shower heading right for us, then died out just off the coast - groan!

Theres actaully a ban on duck shooting at the minute because of the ice. Its a bit of a shame that theres no snow on the horizon for us up north. I'm sick to death of seeing England getting dumping after dumping!! Hopefully we get the same conditions later on in the winter!
