Very heavy snow showers between about 03:00 and 10:00, 11cm lying on the wall, which is the best surface to measure on today. Some flurries since then.

Despite all the temporary thaws, we've still amassed around 15cm, at Sea level! :D

Snow showers from just before dawn and lasting up to mid morning have given a slight cover of a couple of cmssmile.gif

Had one or two light to moderate snow showers earlier, with a slight dusting of the white stuff on the ground.

I also took some close-up pictures of the snow on the patio. Despite the lightness of the showers, the snow seem to settle straight away.

We've had about 3.5 inches now and its still coming down. Looking at the radar there is just more and more to come. The snow flakes are enormous. yahoo.gifPhotos cannot do it justice, but this was taken looking across my field to my neighbours who are out with their dogs.

Glad to report same conditions as Rossendale. Moderate snow for past few hours & nice juicy flakes. Given a couple of inches ontop of existing snow. Temp currently 0oC

Quite astonishingly heavy snow at present, I've rarely seen anything like it.

If it snowed like this for an hour I reckon there'd be at least 15cm.

lucky youTM itin here on what little snow fell last eveing.

anyway its not often this kind of snow report comes in from the Cairngorm ski site

There is now about 100cm of snow which has fallen over the last week or so.

It must be the best start in many many years for the Scottish ski resorts.

Just posted a clip of the heavy snow falling this morning on the Yorks discussion thread:

And here's an interesting one. The telgraph pole at the back of our house has snow stuck on two sides - E facing from snow a day or two ago, and W facing from this morning.
