Had a heavy fall of snow in the early hours of the morning today which left a further 5 inches, and also some heavy snow showers this evening which left another 2 inches.

Needless to say,the roads around here are very quiet at the minute.:nonono:

I thought I'd pop on this thread

to report Thunder Snow here in the

last half hour.

A mix of light snow then heavy graupel

with one good rumble.

Only the second time I've experienced it.

Temp now -0.7 C

Less than 3cm laying snow.

BL :good:

Cleadon has had snow showers at some stage on every day of the month apart from the 4th.

Since I came back to Norwich on the 5th we've had snow showers on every day as well. 2cm on the 5th, 3cm on the 6th, 8cm on the 7th, 10cm today, and hardly any thawing in the sunshine in between the showers.

1cm last night and a further 1-2cm late afternoon early evening today-the 7th day with snow falling this month and its now 8 days snow lying-so fairly unusual for here along with over 60 hours with the temperature below zero.

Constant heavy snow showers here all day and all night... and they are still packing in with no sign of any letup just yet! 9cm's level snow away from the town centre, with significant drifts too. Incredible scenes, for cold temperatures and accumilated snow this has been the best winter of my lifetime, and it's not even Mid-January!

First decent snowfall of January here, leaving about a 1cm covering, though still snowing lightly

At Cleadon my parents have reported 25cm, which is believable since they already had about 5cm more than most of South Shields when I left (presumably due to a combination of less urban development and distance from the coast).

"Only" 11-12cm at UEA at the moment, but the area of snow that's just starting to move in now could add to that.

Guest North Sea Snow Convection

Fifth day of full snowcover here today. After the persistent light snow of Weds, which gave about 5 cms, there was sunshine, hard frost and isolated snow showers on Thurs. Friday much the same - with heavier snow showers which became more persistent during the evening. Yesterday it snowed pretty much continuously till evening with some heavy falls. Total accumulations about 15 cms built up slowly and steadily over those days

Light wintry flurries this morning and a very slight thaw of the snow

After a slight thaw and some melt on windward surface, light snow on and off today(not amounting to more than a dusting), heavy snow now for last 15 mins.

Temp has dropped to minus 1c and 1cm of fresh snow already

It is snowing very lightly here tonight, car roofs have turned white, who can tell what's gathering on the fondant ice outside?? :D

The first snow before the cold spell was on the 17th December and it then snowed every day until at least the 22nd December. We have had snow cover since the 20th December and snow at least every other day. We still have Met-O definition snow cover and it is still falling from the sky.

I give up. Is that a month of snowy-ness??

Still snowing here. Just. You'll see it on my webcam.

Snow still lying from December and last week. Over 3 weeks with snow on the ground.
