Doesn't look like I am going to get any of this, will be rain anyway so I am not missing out on much!

Depends how long it takes to get here. Temps should start dropping again soon.

What temps did you get in Manchester?

When I woke up around 8am it was -2, then it crept upto to 1c, and that's were it's been for the last two hours or so.

Oldham is quite high up compared to some parts of the Mids.

Hence the max temp of 1c

Raining here, despite whats going on oin the model thread, my gut feeling says this cold spell has been masivy over hyped.

Forcast temperatures on places like the BBC and metchck, although on the cool side, dont seem shockingly cold, more along the lines of if we do see snow, the sun will come out and melt it in minutes ( as happened with a breif flurry this morning) or it will turn to rain.

My little thermometer is saying 2.8c and at the moment theres some light patchy rain about, looks like thats as good as it gets.

2.9c and 0.6c ( http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=I90579761 ), far too warm for any decent snow.

Haven't got a clue, will just have to keep an eye on the radar.

Why is the temperature so darn high with -6C uppers, 5.0c here in whittington!

Netweather radar shows snow just north of me so im not sure? Dewpoints are decent according to that radar at around -2C to 0C.

Hopefully, the temperatures should start falling once the precipitation gets established.

I'm not too sure if this is neccesarily true or not, but I think if the precipitation is very cold, it should gradually start absorbing the warmer air around it, so making it cooler, and I think it's this which really helps with snowflakes reaching down to lower levels.
