just stopped snowing after about 1 and half hour of continues snowfall with some heavy stuff in last 20 mins, didnt settle at start but dew points dropped and left us a nice cm covering all around..

bring on more drinks.gif

still sleet but temps very high, 2.5C, higher than last weeks sleet

my temperature was 3.6c two hours ago... now it's 0.9c after continues snowfall... so don't worry

The showers seem to be slipping south now. We have clearish skies here still although I can see cloud banks in the distance. Temp here is a rather barmy 4 degrees with a dp of 1 so am hoping no precipitation hits here at the mo!

Argh - heavy rain here. Temp still 3.5 although dewpoint is now at 0.0. Hope for some evaporative cooling before the precipation goes as I think we've probably only got about half an hour of it.

Can't believe it's warmer than our failed attempt earlier on in the week.

Still dry here, looks to be just to my north. Hopefully see something soon, be it rain sleet or snow.

yep! i see the clouds skirting s/e but tbh i doubt we will get snow here in worc if a shower comes this way because the temp is 4 and dew point 2. im just hoping the temp and dew point will drop!

Hey loopydreamer, happy new year!

Temp just started to fall away a bit here - did reach 4.3 but is now 3.9, but I agree it's a bit too warm still! Clouding over here now too.

In Pattingham. Sky looking dark to the north but all the red stuff (snow) on the raintoday radar seems to of petered out, with sleet coming in behind it. We are not going to see snow here today unless temps drop sharply and the band coming through the cheshire gap hits us later on.

OK. Trying to work out why ppn for some has turned to rain and sleet. Looking at the 06z, the 0oC Isotherm remained across the n/w, far west midlands and eastern Wales. This seems to disappear, and gains height throughout the day. So for later, i'm going to hold my breath. Not due to pessimism, but due to this factor.

However, dew points are starting to look more positive again, and H500 and 850's looking plausable.

Looking further in to next week, and it looks more positive.

However, as proven for quite a few people, it is not always a clear cut case of when snow does and does not happen.

Now light rain/sleet washing away the earlier snow.

Little precip left heading this way so I think that's it for here for now at least.

Oh well nice to see a bit of it anyway!
