It's missing me by about 30 miles so far. Hope it takes on a more southerly movement soon as should get a lovely stream of showers if so.

Looks Like Nottingham and Derby are getting a good dumping. yahoo.gif

well fortunately no snow heading this way (No surprise there then) as our temperature has just hit 2 with a dp above 0 also - 0.2.

It actually makes me laugh that whenever precipitation is near, all of a sudden "mild sectors" come into play and in the s/w midlands we end up with rain or slush

We are seriously unlucky down this way!

just fail to understand these cold spells, never cold enough for snow even if we had uppers of -10 surface temps not good enough for settling snow.

Haha i live at Ladmanlow, come and and have a look up their.......

Do you mean up there? Well you are certainly higher than Buxton is. That's a bleak place up there, so I'll take your word for it. The snow has eased here but I doubt we’ve seen the last of it.

The showers are taking the same track as a couple of weeks ago - thru Manchester, missing here and on into Derbyshire. Like then, the dark clouds are to my NE with clear skies to my SW ! Frustration again for Staffs,Shrops and the West Mids.

There is a couple of troughs this time,2nd trough will push SW later.

Temps higher today with a west wind at 0.8c but still 9inches of snow, and next week looks bitter

Looks like this is the sort of set-up where the further east you are the more chance of snow, this is because the air is coming off the Irish sea and therefore as the streamer comes eastward you get a good indication of the windmass becoming more WNW in nature, therefore I suspect that may have tipped some places past marginal...esp further west.

Just goes to show. This Cheshire Gap Streamer was not predicted to be so widespread! Think it will just miss me at the moment. Still hopeful for later.

BBC weather showed the showers eventually moving south from the cheshire gap, so dont lose hope yet. Some very white clouds not far to my east.
