Morning Folks

All quiet here in Nottingham at the moment, a light dusting over night, sun poking through the clouds now, and nothing falling...

Cheers

That's the idea, yes. All the precip to our north will ove in a more southerly track than the first band of snow is doing, as the winds change to a NNE direction. So from this you can see how some parts of the Midlands could see decent accumulations during late this afternoon. What happens tonight and into Wednesday is 'up in the air'.

I'm not too sure.....admittedly its the earlier 03z run, but the high resolution NMM model wants to take that precip over lancs/yorkshire to the ESE, and this first showery band seems to be a few hours ahead of schedule....For us north of Birmingham, this 1st showery band could be the only snow we'll see.....but on the bright side, its just a model run, and there's plenty of time for subtle changes :whistling:

Manc stuff looks to be going to Derbyshire (again), seems we just caught the eastern tip of that band over Wales. And just east of Shrewsbury there was a big hole in the precip. Trouble is, if we get more stuff later on in the day, will it stick? Shawbury had already crept above freezing an hour ago.

Yeah its much warmer here today.

Had the usual reports of being more snow in Telford from people having come that way from work. However peeps from Staff said there was nothing, and Oswestry had only had a bit.

If as has been said on this thread the Manc stuff does get dragged more towards us around lunch time, then we will certinly see a good lot of snow... but even at this near time frame it looks as if it might not be far enough west to effect us badly...

Real day of watching the radar for the west midlands to see who get the after effects of Manchesters show this morning.

I'm in Chaddesden, Derby.

Snow has stopped now, and the suns out in the east, although its mainly overcast.

Looking at Net weather radar, precip seems to be moving west to east (only slightly south). Looks to be going to the north of here. Hopefully the wind will switch soon.

No more snow here yet... Big blob to our WNW which is heading almost straight east. It just needs to go a little SE and we're right in the firing line. Given that the wind should be swinging north soon I'd expect it to do so... that or turn around completely!
