South West England Cold Spell Discussion

At last, after weeks of waiting I have 1cm snow, fantastic, am really concerned though as temp is gradually rising 0.8 and dew point of -1.2 is there any colder air on the way? as I would be devastated if it rains and washes it all away before kids get up. Am going to find it very hard to go to sleep with the chance of more snow, I unfortunately appear to be addicted to the radar.

Started to snow lightly here (midway Bath&Wells), looking at the radar, the heavy stuff which is further East and North - is that supposed to loop over the top and head back S/SW or head off into Wales and stay there?

Tell me about it. Good to remain skeptical really, and not get your hopes up too much. May still get something tomorrow morning as the band pulls away.

Looks to me that if the precip starts to move more south, those in Glos, Brst and Somerset will get a load, the same if it carries on a more westerly track, just a bit later....

lol...looking like a 1981

Over and out, guys. Off to bed. Hope to wake up to a decent covering in the morning. I expect the Glos/Chelt posse to be wading thru' at least a foot of the white stuff by 7 tom morn! Cheers

Got to laugh.

Like South Somerset, spare a thought for Dorset as we sit here completly snowless.

The weather gods can be strikingly cruel at times. First we have to watch that band of PPN filter slowly up from the channel Northwards via Hampshire to our east and now it looks odds on we will have to watch a band of snow slip southwards down the country via Devon to our west! :) :)

Looking better for here in south Wiltshire now, the snow is heading more NNW from the south coast and heading this way though not looking very heavy.
