Mate, i don't understand it, i'm on a slight hill, no gritters been out , thick covering of snow = nice day off college - i was thinking sledging down my hill as there shouldn't be any traffic lol.

Interesting to notice that in 3 hrs of very very light snow it cover a little bit the pavement and the side of the streets. When the ppn will inntensify it's gonna settle straight away. Light snow now, street is white already...it just happened as I was writnig...!

it hasn't snowed here since 9.30 and from what I' ve seen on the bbc radar I think that's it for us here in Wellington.

At least we have had a covering.Althought he ere is cloud over us atm.

Had a moan earlier, now snowing, lol. Not all that heavy but paths and roads are already white and the snow is slowly settling on the grass.

EDIT: I'm in Langport, Somerset, about 11 miles east of Taunton.

The first of tonights proper snow is well into north Devon now so hopefully we will get some good stuff in an hour or so. Hope everyone else gets what they want to.

The bbc showed the snow moving down the channel, so far its done a good job of rotating around Bristol. Hope it pull tighter in the next few hours.

I don't remember anything about snow in 1981 - no photos - my interest in extreme weather started with the 1987 "hurricane" - but I do remember the 1991 snow as I have video of it.

yes I have photo's of 81,

Ive been following the weather since 1971,no joke.

Just snow and lightning.

IF we here get 1ft then its the same as 81

there is a slight possabilty it was 82...but its one or the other

As i type it is now moderate to heavy and judging by the radar it looks fairly set in!!
