It's tantalislingly close to Ipswich really, Southern districts over and along the Orwell Bridge/A14 should be getting something light now.

To those in Colchester/south Suffolk, big breath now and blow north...Please

TUE - J

lol....im just a little bit norther than that, not far thou...so im hoping the big blow from the south will do its job!

certainly some clouds forming!

Awoke to grand total of 1" (2.5cm) which considering the strength of the Bedford snow sheild is quite an acheivement. 15 miles south and 20 miles west Bicester has 9 inches!! Gotta love the UK's weather

Southern precipitation still just to the south of us but I have my eye on the band coming in over Kings Lynn which seems to heading straight for us and getting more potent.

Fingers crossed for a little more throughout the day.

Will the snow showers carried in on the easterly winds forecast for Thursday and Friday make it this far west?

Enjoy the weather!

Woke up to around 3cm here in Ware yet only 40 miles awai in high Wycombe they have about 30cm , bummer, snowing nicely now but how long will this last, im a complete novice but looking at the 'Raintoday' radar there seems to be a good feed of snow going East to West across my neck of the woods, is this a 'streamer' ????

After going up town for food and walking around a bit, the snow is deeper then I thought it was and it has been really heavy snow with large flakes for around 30 mins, this is really adding to the snow and is settling on the roads a lot.

Suprised that we are getting this heavy stuff!

Yep tis looking rather respectable now, tis not?

4cm here, yes - cm, just did the bin test. Rather disappointing - snowing hard at 4am but there were signs of melting on the car bonnets. :whistling:

Don't be disappointed as the second wave as I call it will add to your 4cm. Don't forget the rest of the week into the weekend where there's even more snow to add to today's snowfall.

By the way, it is snowing here right now.

Around 3 inches here now and on the edges of the City centre! And looking at the radar we could have quite a while of this heavy snow!

Will measure properly when i go and play in it!

However it hasn't stopped falling since 6PM yesterday and it looks a lot deeper than Feb which hit here hard.

I'd say we got at least 8" on untouched surfaces. Keeps falling off everything when it gets to high!

I have a quick question I was hoping someone may be able to answer for me. We've had nothing in Shoebury but I am meant to be going to vange this morning. Can anyone in the know let me know if there has been anything there I might have to contend with? I am due there until about 5pm, so also concerned about getting hom. Not got the time to look through everything and check it all out for today. I really hope someone can answer and thanks
