Hello Saint!

Bloomin' 'eck! That's chilly. :whistling:

From what I recall the whole of StAlbans is on a hill isn't it? lol :good:

Well done on your snow. We are down to -2.1c currently.

Hi Milly,

We managed to get down to -5.8 in Aldborough last weekend, and you know how close to the coast we are. It was brass monkey weather

You can see the next LP system that is going to affect the SE tomorrow on the latest satellite loop just off the coast of Denmark. Will be interesting to watch this one come at us. Hopefully it'll build to something silly like 960mbs :whistling::D:good:

The latest +60+72 fax charts are excellent with the whole region at risk.

I will add that I was wrong about the NE,ly. Seems the fax/ECM/UKMO suggest a ENE,ly.

Light snow continues to fall. Not really accumulating that much.

The heaviest batch is yet to come through , im further north and it's coming down in big fat flakes

Good luck, i've asked more than a few times, but because the action is further down south Norfolk has been ignored despite it being in East Anglia.

I know what you mean! Actually I wish they'd stuck to a separate thread for us EA-ians…

It was sheer torture watching all that snow falling down south, not because I'm being mean and begrudging them it, but because I used to live right in the 'sweet spot' of last night's event. I've been using the NW radar 'Accumulation' button, bringing up '24 hours' and for my ex-postcode they've had a mind-blowing 24hr accumulation of 38 cm.

Something going on here now - occasional wind gusts that are sufficient to start to blow the snow about + short power outage.

I suspect that many Eastern places that did not do so well out of yesterday's affair will do better with tomorrow's set up as a shallow low moves in from the North Sea bringing some instability. MetO progging troughs or bands of more organised showers.

In Stortford so far, 10 cm snow, we ought to get a little more tomorrow afternoon.

What is shown in the models that is getting the MetO jumpy for the weekend (especially Sunday). Is the possible late arrival of the northern part of Mr Schafenacker's continental low?

The main heaviest ppn for Kent is just nearing the North East Kent coast (around Herne Bay & Margate).

Looks like it will only affect the Eastern parts of Kent only.

Will it still stay as heavy snow?

Hello, if the snow we're having in Rochester is heading your way - leave your car where it is! Just had the scariest drive home from Maidstone! Went from nothing to cars being abandoned in 45 minutes!

Wind's picking up now 16 mph NNE, but the temperature's steady at -1.2 ° C.

Is this a good thing TEITS and will it get stronger or strong enough to blow more inland?

FWIW, its barely below freezing here at 0.5-c, you can hear the street drains running with water...

Looks like my 6pm prediction for Kent this morning was spot on.

Based this on the NMM model which is superb IMO.

Is that Rochdale Road Nick? We used to live at the top of there!!!

Is indeed, what a small world! The road was a nightmare in the snowy spell before Xmas as its so steep on the way out, and the way its coming down now, looks like cars won't get out tomorrow. Fortunately I parked my car yesterday up on top the hill where the roads are level and salted before the snows came.

Still having to pinch myself that the current phenomenal long cold spell is actually reality, with more to come. For years we've been waiting for this, long overdue, with all the hot air about the modern winter and global warming each winter.
