Morning everyone. Its a cold dull frosty morning here in Derry. Whats everyones thoughts on wednesdays event? I'm taking it with a pinch of salt after there was advisories issued at the end of last week for Sunday but this never happened except for Co Down and Armagh. Can we expect the snow that the Meto are advising on or is it gonna be a marginal event?

Just seeing the the Meto have now issue a watch for thursday aswell. Will hight matter for this or should we all see something wintry?

I think a few northern counties could see snow but only those away from coasts. I don't think Down, Antrim or even Derry will see snow, except for higher ground. I could see Tyrone, Fermanagh, Cavan, Monaghan, etc getting snow. Anywhere south of here will see sleet or rain.

Parents are reporting heavy snow back in Tipperary. Said it was sleet this morning but by around 11 turned to heavy snow.

In Cork tis the usual rain and cold!

If it's falling as snow down in parts of the south, it should definitely be snow for at least a few hours in the north.

clouding over here,

outside temp 3.9c

outside humidity 74%

dew point -0.3c.

so conditions are conducive for snow here.

Snowing in Killkenny, Clare, inland of the coast in Wicklow.

You nordy fellas are gonna get a treat from later.

Could dare i say it, be around 20cms of lying snow around middle east Ulster.

The mournes would look nice, amazing that 50 miles north of here there will be tonnes of snow while nout here!

Heavy Snow 0010 Wed 24 1800 Wed 24

There is a high risk of severe weather affecting Northern Ireland. There is the potential for heavy snow to give significant accumulations, especially over high ground. There is likely to be significant disruption to travel networks, particularly over higher level routes.

Snow will gradually turn back to rain from the south later on Wednesday.
