snow coming tomorrow! if it lies i think i could get maybe 5cm.. im sick of getting 2cm... why does the meto have snow on hills then have a warning out for low levels weird... the snow might last the entire band here im thinking because of how far north i am... the bbc graphics showed snow in the forecast for here the whole way through..cc_confused.gif

I would be very very surprised to see any low lying snow tomorrow afternoon, it's just too warm. Personally, I hope the precipitation is delayed too about 4pm as the sun sets which might help.

Cannot see how 2cm is classed as heavy snow though.

Frosty there will be snow and i think we could see a good inch. Look at saturday night. No warnings or anything and we had about an inch and a half. Didn't last very long but it was nice to see!! Roll on 9'oclock in the morning. Could be a tricky drive to work at 11!! :)

If the cloud dosnt drag the temp above 0c and melt the frost. but if that doesnt happen then we could see very deep snow i think say 10cm is possible considering how heavy it is forecasted to be and the rate its moving at... and if it stays as snow the whole way through then it should be fine.

Moderate snow here in Derry for the past 2 hours. Have 2-3 cms on the ground. Some nice chunky flakes coming down. Nice to see but it will be all gone be tonight or tonight as it gets milder.

Started snowing in Coleraine around 11 or so. Really started coming down. I thought the journey home would be disasterous for me. Thankfully things started to melt fairly quickly.

Love the snow but don't really want to be stuck away from home in it. Don't mind being stuck at home (thats a diferent matter altogether!).

As I thought the snow forecast for yesterday was highly optimistic by the Met Office.

Hopefully the forecast North Easterly will be less boring than the last one.

Overnight models are not good for snow from the short lived easterly. Our hopes are on a quick retrogression to Greenland and a northerly to follow.

It would also be a laugh to see a west based -NAO set up with Ireland on the cold side of the arctic front and most of the Britsh mainland in milder atlatic air.

Ill be lucky to manage below average temps this week.

5.5C, by day, 4.5C by night. dry.gif

Cloudy skies, light winds. Its more or less just anticyclonic gloom!

A few very light showers of rain or graupel now and then, just to liven things up.

The only thing Ill be model-watching for is a change in wind direction. pardon.gif

According to the GFS 6Z - SNOWMAGEDDON IN T+6 DAYS

A retrogression of the high to Greenland, giving us a northerly, will be great. I suspect it will happen sooner or later.

However, we all know how reliable the models have been lately. We shouldnt get too excited just yet!dirol.gif
