Currently -0.4C after an overnight low of -2.1C. The thick fog is very slowly dissipating so the temperature may climb fairly high if it clears completely.

Temperature has risen quite a bit, up to 2.1C now, which is still 5C below average! A hint of a blue sky now appearing overhead, though things will probably start cooling off again within the next 2 hours.

same conditions here though my max was around 4c because the fog thinned... and a layer of cloud in the morning rose the temp aswell... temp now down to around -1.4c... and clear with fog... i wonder if it stays like this could we expect snow sf didnt you tell me that we could expect -7c tonight... when does the frost in fog actually start freezing i thought hoar frost formed in fog below 0c well its below 0c and its foggy but no hoar frost...

The temperature has really began to plummet here in the last 30 minutes, now down to -1.8C. Can't think of why it would have happened, fog hasn't cleared or anything?

Would be nice to see some snow this weekend! What is everyone thoughts for this weekend? I know it's gonna be short lived but it would be nice all the same. Can't remember the last time we had a sever northerly/north westerly. To be honest i'm sick of everyone to the east of us getting the snowy conditions. In saying that the cold spell from the 19th December which lasted 3 weeks was one of the most potent that I have ever witnessed! Hopefully we get a really good spell of snowy weather before winter gives way to spring.

Still looking at Snow showers from tomorrow afternoon through to Monday Morning. Probably confined to the North Coast and my neck of the woods and that's about it.

I don't post much but do look at the models. I don't contribute to the Output Model discussion as I am in agreement with the sensible posters and don't have anything further to say. I can't understand why someone would post a lengthy post that mirrors the 4 previous posts? And I don't know why someone who hasn't a clue would post on the Model Thread. Anyway as I live in Ireland I can post here.

Anyway - this weekend doesn't look good for snow below 300 to 400m. But you never know, inland on a brisk wind it might deliver to the norther half.

I woudld say with such sustained blocking on the models - all be it constantly pushed out 240 hrs for an esaterly, it would mean that we will get at least one more major easterly. I suspect snow will be a threat right into end of MArch this year.

What I am interested in is how this affects the Summer. You can read all you want about the top guys predicting this winter, but until the end most predicted a mild one. I would love to hear thoughts on how this unusal Winter is expected to effect the Summer. There should be some pointers from the past. Not saying set in stone that a blocked winter will provide a certain Summer, but the causes of the clod winter may have an impact on the following Summer. I could not take another very wet Irish Summer on top of all our other worries :D

Had some snow this morning believe it or not, was very heavy but quite wet. Didn't lie, but then again ground temps need to go down a bit yet.
