Bye Bye snow!

light sleet after a rapid thaw aiding the melting! Still got a nice covering but have a feeling i may see the ground for the first time in 2 weeks by the morning!

I did hope for a little snow with a dew point of 0.2C an hour ago, but now it's rising and is 0.9C with a temp of 2.8C.

Been a great cold snap though!

Time to stop radar watching and uploading the photo's Iv'e taken! :D

Had rain here for 3 hours now, took a drive to the wolds where its snowing at 250m with major drifting from the wind. Will it stay rain here or will it turn to snow?

Not sure where the snow is going to come from. The radar looks like the precipitation is dying out

Well, the cold snap has been great while it lasted but it seems to be over here. I'm about 40 miles inland from the North Sea coast and we've had what I can only describe as a wintry mix of precipitation all day and a fairly rapid thaw even though temps have hovered around 1C all day with a dew of zero. None of the snow/sleet has accumulated at all and the roads are much clearer now than they were this time yesterday so this bodes well for tomorrow morning's rush hour.

It's been fun though and I'm sure we'll see some more of the white stuff before the season is out.smile.gif

Believe it or not, in a heavier burst just now, i had hail and some really big snow flakes thrown into the mix, temp 2.4c dew 1.9c

Freezing level dropping in the heavier precipitation.

Looking at Rain Today? Seems to change to snow as it either enters Leeds or passes through.

Still raining....Bit of sleet mixed in...had plenty of snow flurries through out today though..........

Just been out and measured we have lost 50%+ today with a thaw and all this rain and are now down to below 3"

:)

Thats just it.looking like dying out but the old pennines doing the buissness with the moisture to put it crudely.

I think its just guna keep coming in waves. The precipitation will keep pepping up/dying out all the through till tommorow afternoon. Above 1000ft, every flake will be settling now so it will all acumulate (west yorkshire). But lower levels will probably struggle :)
