Sunday night could be interesting although at the moment it looks like snow to rain event as an occlusion moves through however could this give alot of snow first away from south coast?

Or even better it could be snow to snow event for a change. whistling.gif

Snow to Snow would be good!

I then hope we get a massive warm up as we approach March and through the summer.

(Just so the the AGWers can say its due to CO2, in the same way its cold due to to CO2 and so on and so forth - least it would make more sense :()

Looking at the radar, it looks like Weston is getting a fairly decent shower. Nothing in Nailsea currently.

We were in Weston this afternoon, the sky was stunning with CBs and lots of blue sky.

Does anyone on here live in Wells? We drove through there late morning and got caught in a heavy soft hail/snow shower that left a rapid covering!

Da bnawn. Do, dwi hanner Cymraeg.

Good afternoon. Yes, I am half Welsh. The Welsh side of my family originate from Porthmadog and Aberystwyth. I haven't lived in Wales myself but am slowly learning it so you'll have to excuse any careless mistakes I make when writing in Welsh lol.

On a weather note: I'm not sure where all the precipitation is as we're supposedly under a shower at the moment but nothing is falling. The recent light hail shower hardly dampened the road.

Brilliant well done to you, i fought something you see with such a welsh name,

Had a fairly heavy graupel/hail shower in Chippenham around 18:00...

Doesn't look like there's much else in store for us tonight!

Do you think we are going to get much tomorrow Matt ? Or just a few showers/dusting of snowblink.gif

I doubt we'll see much in the way of 'disruptive' snow, but we shall see. Always hopefull :)

Can't see much else for here tonight...

Maybe a few showers tomorrow, but of what??? :)

NAE @ 18:00 tomorrow shows snow for here (Wiltshire) and parts of North Somerset and North Devon.

Hope it happens!

NAE @06:00 on Sunday shows snow for parts of Cornwall, the Northern half of Devon, pretty much all of Somerset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire and most of Wales!

Turning to rain though (apparently) from 12:00 onwards for anywhere West of Wiltshire / far East of Somerset.

Heavy rain for nearly all of us after 18:00 Sunday! :)

GFS shows a rain to snow event for most of the South West from 00:00 - 06:00 Wednesday.

Back to rain by 06:00 Thursday though... However, Glos. looks like it could be snow, so could also be marginal for the Bristol area again?

Schmac what is NAE cc_confused.gif I have seen it mentioned several times,i'm still trying to follow what all this means. thanks drinks.gif

Hi ya.

Thanks good.gif

No probs. I'm new to all this aswell!

If you want to have a look at the charts from the various models, have a look at Weather Online - Expert Charts

Select a model (i.e. GFS, NAE etc.) from the menu at the top of the map, then select the "chart type" (i.e. Precipitation, Surface Wind etc.) from the "Parameters" menu (on the left-hand side of the map, underneath the "Region" menu).

Enjoy! :p

The GFS 18z run is much better for the South than the 12z run...

On the 12z run, next Friday showed rain for all of the UK apart from the North of Scotland...

The 18z run shows SNOW for the entire country, right down to the South coast (with the exception of the far South East / London)...

I hope that trend continues! :D

Took a trip up Cleeve Hill earlier this afternoon, with a friend. Quite a bit of snow left up there from yesterday. The depth was very variable but on average it was probably around 2-3 inches, with deeper patches up to ankle deep and the occasional knee deep patch where the snow had drifted off the sides of a gully. A respectable amount; more than I had expected.
