Significant swelling of the Rivers Ouse and Cuckmere especially around Drusillas this morning where another day of rain will see it breach onto the main A27.

I lived in lewes when it got flooded a few years back, truly amazing rainfall. The meto were really good then to. i remember the schools being closed halfway through the day despite it hardly raining. Next day most of lewes under water.

update from ian on the sw thread

"Weekend snow threat is further north based on current ensembles but it's irrelevant: potential for some noteworthy weather anyway into Sunday; the latest UK-GM just received looks very wild; and as the UKMO Ops Centre folks note to us:

"There remains a large spread in deterministic and EPS output regarding intensity, track and timing of major low

moving towards the UK from the S/SW this weekend, largely because this system is yet to form and originates from an

area well south of 'more traditional' breeding grounds for major lows (it originates as a kind of triple point wave ESE of

Florida later today/early tomorrow and tracks towards the Canary Islands before turning North late this week)."

Could be very interesting indeed...."

reports of sleet in pompey as well...

I mentioned risk of flooding over next few days for parts of England in the N-W alert issued this morning. There were 4 flood warnings and 29 flood watches earlier this morning across southern England and E Anglia from yesterday's persistent rain (27mm 24 hr total ending 21z yesterday at Herstmonceux), the waters seem to have gone down a bit as there is just 1 flood warning on the IoW and 24 flood watches. But expect flood warnings will increase by Thursday, with some heavy rain looking to move across SE England/E Anglia tomorrow evening - as well as today's rain.

That describes the conditions perfectly here as well. A thoroughly miserable day out there.

Snowing for past half hour here. Settling on Grass, Cars etc.

Was only expecting rain to be honest. Just shows that it can snow at 2.5 degree's.

Always good to here of snow in Epping, not to far from here. Temps and Dew points in Epping are perfect at the moment, so don't think this will stop for a while.

I see the cold uppers are slowly retreating north on those quirky models as the time gets nearer, everyone did say they were not reliable for us, only Moscow.
