Had a few heavy showers here today, it ruined my BBQ lol.

Had some lovely clouds formations today, towers, cirrus, cumulus, mammatus.

Here is a picture, it was like something out of independance day;

Rain is getting pretty heavy now, but we still haven't got the heaviest area over us yet. Should be fun when we do!  :pardon:

if the NMM model is correct then we could see something out of this intense rain!

Looking interesting at the moment, winds picking up here and some decent looking thundery clouds about. Lets hope the showers to continue to grow and intensify.

Hi guys (netweather team)

I don't know if you was aware, but i'm on the net weather extra radar, when i zoom in on postcode and click the lightning overlay, the image is breaking and its not showing the images for the radar. Just thought I would let you know (sorry about the off-topic post)

Yup same here. Sheffield shield holding out fairly well the heavy rain struggling to make progress. Actually we could get very large amounts of rain due to the slowness of movement when it gets here.

Still no sign of any lightening activity.

Hi Dogs,

Whats actually happening then?

Its as if its moving ENE to me, pivoting. Or is it really moving southwards? or is it expected to shift a little later. OR lol could a conv.zone setup to the south of the band with some really hefty showers.

I have not really looked at the charts over the past 2 days mate. I think i'll see a few showers, as it seems to be breaking up this side of the penines.

I think while its moving E / NE the area of rain should slowly push South Whilst it still rotates E / N-E

yea thats how I was seeing it.....I was surprised myself to be honest about this forecast.....Saw to updates from Mrs Willets weather girl.

According to her the Thundery rain will turn torrentail in places as the nights goes on..

With Storms in places which some will be nasty TS...

She focused on S/E Midlands and the home counties for the worst of t he storms...

Also stating that these will be ongoing on and off through the night into the early hrs.

Seemed extremely confident on both forecasts.

and yes moving South East EXTREMLY slowly

It just so happens that I was doing an all-nighter anyway with an essay due in tomorrow, so this comes as an added bonus!

Though I do have this feeling that the most interesting stuff will miss Coventry to the South.
