The first band will give heavy and prolonged showers for the next couple of hours over the Coventry area, there is a bit of a gap following but then the more scattered showers over Wales (not had much here today) will probably arrive late evening.

51% storm chance here tonight, can't see it happening.

Ah the heavy rains has finally arrived. Taken it's time.

I must warn you (and others), i had similar posts to that deleted because apparently they weren't on topic, despite referring to a convective shower as i assume you are doing.

I wonder if the metoffice will update their warning for glos etc..

Odd that they havent, however they do have a good nack of only updating while it happens.

I think the heaviest of the precipitation is going to stay throughout West and South Yorkshire, and then later the Midlands, it does appear to be pivitong ENE, although as it pivots the energy is transfering South and weakening on it's eastern most edge. i may catch a little rain, but I won't hold my breath.

Lots of Ac Cas filling the sky now with some small breaks between showing bluesky. Was quite windy too, but in the last hour it's gone eirily calm and still. Fingers, toes and anything else I can find crossed for later on. Not had a good nightime lightshow here since may 2005

Shouldn't get deleted as it's on topic. Rain gone back to being light. Sat under the main band no lightening or anything just steady rain. Still think it's a dead duck as far as weak storms go.

Just seen a new band breaking out in front of the main one perhaps that will be where the storms are.
