I think while its moving E / NE the area of rain should slowly push South Whilst it still rotates E / N-E

so I could get effectively stuck under this band of rain if it's rotating E/NE

Dang, sounds good.

Looks like i'll miss out this time, i won't be complaining though as I did very well the other week :)

best of luck mate, and you guys down south (and of course those in the storm shielded sheffield :pardon:)

yea thats how I was seeing it.....I was surprised myself to be honest about this forecast.....Saw to updates from Mrs Willets weather girl.

According to her the Thundery rain will turn torrentail in places as the nights goes on..

With Storms in places which some will be nasty TS...

She focused on S/E Midlands and the home counties for the worst of t he storms...

Also stating that these will be ongoing on and off through the night into the early hrs.

Seemed extremely confident on both forecasts.

and yes moving South East EXTREMLY slowly

Impressive amounts of rain certainly. It's one of those that could give the odd rumble as it trundles NE-wards, but for the most part it's just prolonged heavy rain.

Perhaps later this evening there could be a couple of potent showers following on behind. Only a thought from a deluded hopeful though!  :whistling:

The showers/storms over south Wales are reall starting to get going, every iteration of the NW radar shows intensity growing.

Yes...Has been a nice day since the drizzle this morning, but it's turning much more stormy now with gusty winds and angry looking clouds. I'm not expecting thunder here, but some showers to look quite nasty to come.

Had a few heavy showers here today, it ruined my BBQ lol.

Had some lovely clouds formations today, towers, cirrus, cumulus, mammatus.

Here is a picture, it was like something out of independance day;

Do these showers/storms intend to push there way south i feel we ought to get something down here with the rotation of the weather system over England

seeming to be pulling the weather in the west south and southeast?

Any thoughts?

still piddling down here, sadly no flashes or rumbles...Looking at projections for tonight, I think I'm a little too far north for thunderstorms tonight, the radar movies suggest showers/storms to be brum southwards.....Slightly off topic for this thread, but if you like explosive t-storm development, then check out SAT24 for Italy...There's some bombs going off in Northern Italy!!
