Ok, interesting development... Lightning recorded around the Stoke area according to the Net Weather radar :) That's more like it!

Bugger, my cricket match has been wiped out due to the downpour we had half an hour ago....Looks good for lightning tonight here, might even get something from this CF passing through

Met office warnings out for the whole of the West Midlands now. 10-15mm in an hour and maybe 40mm locally in 3 hours.

I see in the warnings it's showers getting increasingly heavy and only locally thundery and sinking southwards later in the evening so those in the south

you may still see something

That means light showers normally. Still light showers at the moment.

Quite grey and damp outside, having a little bit of a shower at the minute.

Oh well, storms forming to the south of me, missing us by bloody miles again. We haven't had a storm since last September here and I don't know how much longer I can wait. Another bitter disappointment yet again.

still dry for me

expect to see some rain from the CF

but I am not totally convinced about these showers / possible storms

of course now I've written this

god will probably send me an almighty storm just to prove me wrong

Edit : Met Office updated forecast

Headline:

Heavy showers for England and Wales. Drier elsewhere.

This Evening and Tonight:

Heavy, and slow-moving showers will continue to affect southern England, the Midlands and Wales overnight. Elsewhere, staying fairly cloudy with the odd spot of light rain in places, especially on northeastern coasts with a fair breeze developing here.

Monday:

Scattered showers continuing in southern England. Elsewhere, mainly dry with bright spells and the odd light shower. A fresh feel in the north and east. Windy later in the southeast.

you'd have thought they would have mentioned thunder or is it implied in the heavy showers bracket

Well there really does look like something building to south over Somerset/Wiltshire at the moment. It's going to miss here and the rest of the action is further north at the moment but encouraging signs nonetheless.

The new one has just been released, I tried it out the other day and it's very good :) I had ICC 2000 on PS1 back in the day and loved it. Also had ICC 2006 but the new one is brilliant. Loving the 3D.

I find it odd that South Yorkshire has warnings out for heavy showers but the latest Met Office forecast only mentions Southern England , Wales and the Midlands even though I suspect it'll be more Southern England And Wales

I just find it odd

According to the radar it should be raining here, but it's dry and hardly any threatening clouds.

Shower has just passed here. Not much in the way of rain and nothing at all Lightning wise, Convectively however due to the Frontal influencing it was quite active, with what appeared to be a "Whales Mouth" ahead of the cell aswell as cloud-level being at 1500ft with rotating Scud evident.

We move around the country a lot. Been in Scotland a few times the south coast I'm surprised we're not in South Africa.

Some action maybe heading our way certainly for Dronfield and the Chesterfield area but it may just go to the south of us or will be shredded by the famous Sheffield shield.
