We just had the tail end of the storm north of the Isle of Wight come through here with torrential rain and thunder.

It did look quite severe on it's way through but I don't think it's as bad now, bit of hail and it's caused the drains to overflow in the roads.

Currently having a marvellous thunderstorm down here in Chelmsford, lasted about 40 minutes, so far, although I think it is on it's way out now. The last strike was really bright and the thunder was so loud it shook the building, I haven't heard anythig like that for years. Rain wise it was fanstastic too, still a fair amount of surface water on the roads.

All in all, 8/10

Not much in the way of anything behind that squall line going through the east of England at the moment. Just a few light showers here and there.

Actually looking at the radar, everything seems to be heading for Kent, hopefully it has the guts to make it this far.

Some nice cells just E of Winchester currently - radar returns suggestive of hail falling around there. Considering period of peak instability is a while away, the next few hours could get quite interesting. Cloud tops on that E Sussex cell are pretty decent, good enough for fairly decent amounts of lightning.

Heya! Yep had a wee storm pass to the South of us. Shedloads of hail and around 8 -10 rumbles. Didn't spot any lightning though. Strike alert still randomly going off at times.

Doesn't look that impressive to me- just a large cumulus congestus and short sharp shower?

Some light convective rain here in NW Kent. Skies look very dark to the west, hopefully we get something more than rain from it! :whistling:

A heavy thundery area has moved by to the south of here, I would say...Witham...Maldon/Tiptree..and on out to sea from there.

To add to that... Just heard the first rumble off to the north-west. Was relatively quite and far off but lasted a decent while...

You realise how storm starved you've been when your sitting at work thinking up a valid excuse to leave early :whistling:

Well, at least many in the East are getting a very nice splash of water and with some Thunder and lightning as an added bonus. Good for the gardens. :whistling:
