-2.4 and dropping fast, and foggy here. Crispy yet foggy. Weird night...I was out the back a few minutes ago, and got treated to a meteor shower of sorts.. Very unusual to see one in the suburbs of Dublin due to light pollution. My anemometer hasn't budged in an hour and a half!

Love this weather, but dreading my February gas bill!

*Edit* Now -2.6.

Plus, some excitement developing on the models thread about some easterlies coming from Russia about 10 days from now... Sneachta heaven comes back into play (small percentage, but still hope!)

Had our second ice day in a row here due to extremely thick fog, never got above -1 all day. . . Very dull and depressing, although trees and everything are white due to freezing fog. Normally 2 ice days would be a good sign for snow but not this time. . . :(

well I have to say, this is an interesting little cold spell.

fifth day with persistent frost in the shade, quite thick and looks like snow. a heavy frost coming down tonight. current outside temp -2.9c.

I can't remember the last time I had five days of inversion high frosty cold weather on the trot like this. I think I would have to go back to the eighties. i wasn't expecting it to be this cold.

It looks quite wintry outside, next best thing to snow I suppose.

Even in Cork city many footpaths have remained icy for a few days now, despite Cork Airport having only it's first sub 0C night yesterday (-1.1C) and getting up to between 5 and 7C most days. At just over 150m asl, it really shows the difference a little height can make in these inversion conditions!

Won't be long before this high becomes quite messy for most now, been cloudy all morning here and it's keeping temps up rightly. Could be a miserable few days in store before the HP moves West and then returns again.
