Any idea what's causing the constant cloud over kent?, it doesn't seem to be coming in off the north sea it's just home grown?

http://www.sat24.nl/nl

If anything the clouds are burning away over the channel and sea

It isn't actually that cloudy here right on the SE tip of Kent - it's been sunny since sunrise but it is hazy

As with Sprites, the disappointing lack of storms heading our way is tempered by the fact that it's unexpectedly warm and sunny here. 17.5oC at present and feeling warmer than that.

A rather odd passage of your post!........Convection will initiate in the next few hours, so you're jumping the gun a bit.....NW radar overlay shows a nice build up of convective energy over the SE, several hundred Joules of energy, plus an encouraging amount of bouyancy in the lower atmosphere, add that to an approaching trough, the destabilizing factors are coming nicely into play...I think signs are promising for an active afternoon in many southern/central parts :)

not sure it will thunder today but if it does it will either be a French/Benelux import or a homegrown shower, at least the temperatures are fairly high though, at 19.4C here, although humidity is quite low at 38% but there's plenty of time for a storm to come if it does!:pardon:

Not sure if we will get much round these parts, its cloudy but 17.5C and humidity 52%, so will have to see what happenes over the next few hours

MM weather outlook seem to think we have a chance

Why 'damn Warminster'? Nowt here last Saturday except a few sharp evening showers. I heard thunder in the afternoon

when in Westbury with a storm that was between there and Bath.

This little beauty, probably:
