It might be a tad to your west.....JEEZ its active!....lightning flashed every 2-3 seconds to my SW.....I love twilight storms, the flickering lightning just looks do damn eerie!!

It sounds good, and it's hopefully heading straight for me! Please, please will it on for me, unless it crumbles into a pathetic light shower by the time it gets here. :)

Cloud tops cooling as the sun sets = more activity in the lightning department!

Send it this way please lol. The vectors are looking so, but everything that's come near to us these past 4 days has died a death before rejuvinating across the other side of the Pennines (fuming somewhat about that.) I'm not one to whine and moan about these things but given we had 1200CAPE across the weekend and missed out to places that were expecting to see nothing, I think were granted something in the way of sferics this time round. Just going to have to wait and see.

I have to agree with that .. almost constant sheet and CG lightning... could only capture the storm, rather than the lightning as it came at a really rapid rate from the south like a huge brick wall. The western flank had some nice swirling low clouds with potential but couldn't get any decent shots.

Sorry about the rain drops on the lens and crap exposure!

It does appear to my headed my way - and it's going very dark to my South West. Fingers very much crossed here (thought we were about to have one earlier but just got the rain)

I can't believe I was stuck inside a leisure centre watching my children swim when an almightly thunderstorm was going on outside. Happenned about 5.15 pm near West Bridgford, Nottingham and haven't seen rain falling like that for ages. Very loud thunder and bright flashes from the lightning. (Remember I was inside beside a very noisy swimming pool so what was going on outside was pretty deafening for a decent storm)!!

Back home and all quiet now! I think we maybe in for an interesting stormy summer this year hopefully!

I agree completely with this! It's about time Derbyshire got some decent storms! The last really good storm I had was the tornado producing cell of 14/9/06.
