Today

The big freeze across most of Europe continues with temperatures below freezing. A dry day across Britain but snow is expected across Norway, Sweden, southern Finland into Denmark and northern Germany. Dry with sunny spells across Belgium, Holland and most of France and southern Germany. Very windy across southern France into the central Mediterranean. Lots of heavy showers to come from the Balearics into southern Italy, Greece and Turkey. The showers will be of snow around the Balearics with heavy snow across northern Italy, the former Yugoslavia into Bulgaria and Romania. Bitterly cold but dry across Poland, The Baltic States into Russia, the Ukraine and Hungry, Austria and Switzerland. Cold and windy across Spain but dry and sunny.

Saturday

Continued bitterly cold across Europe with rain changing to snow across England. Mainly dry across France with snow showers in the south. An area of heavy snow is expected from western Russia into Belarus, The Ukraine, Hungry into the former Yugoslavia and Bulgaria with snow showers in the western Mediterranean while heavy rain showers are forecast from Sardinia into southern Italy and Greece. Further gales will affect the central Mediterranean. Sunnier with just a few snow showers across Norway and Sweden with snow across southern Finland. Monday

Some light sleety rain to come across England and western parts of France today. Just dry and very cold across France into the Low Countries, Germany, southern Sweden, Poland into the Baltic States and southern Finland. Outbreaks of snow are forecast for Norway, northern Sweden, Denmark and northern Finland. Another area of snow will affect Russia, Belarus, The Ukraine, Romania, the former Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Hungry and much of Italy. An area of quite heavy rain and showers is expected across Greece and south and west into the Mediterranean. All of Turkey looks dry with sunny spells. Some rain and snow still across northern parts of Spain with the rest of Iberia dry and cold. Still very windy and unsettled throughout the Mediterranean with gales and heavy showers, these still of snow in the west. Heavy outbreaks of snow continue across Italy, Austria, across Hungry, the former Yugoslavia and across Greece, Turkey and southern parts of Germany and Poland. Dry across northern Poland, Belarus, The Baltic States into Russia and the Ukraine. Snow is expected for Finland with a bitterly cold but dry and sunny day across Sweden and Norway.

Wednesday

Another cold day to come across Spain and Portugal. There will be some sleet and snow showers to the north and east. Cold as well through Italy and Greece where low pressure will be bringing rain, sleet and some snow. Turkey will be experiencing more wintry conditions, with some cloud, rain and snow inland. Cold across France and the Low Countries, as well as Germany, Austria, Hungary and Switzerland. Some sunny spells in these areas, the best of them to the north. Dry and very cold through Scandinavia. Norway and Denmark should have some sunny spells. A few snow flurries sin eastern Sweden and the Baltic States, but dry and very cold in Finland.

Thursday

Cold again through Spain and Portugal on Thursday. This cold weather extends across France where the south will be windy. Cold across the Low Countries and Germany as well as Poland. Some snow passing into central Germany with snow showers for Austria and Hungary as well as Switzerland. Italy will have sunny spells and a few showers. Greece will have sunny spells, whilst Turkey is in for a spell of wintry weather with the risk of some heavy snow inland. Scandinavia stays very cold. Finland and the Baltic States will be cold but dry. It will be remaining cold through Denmark and Sweden as well as Norway.

Heavy outbreaks of snow continue across Italy, Austria, across Hungry, the former Yugoslavia and across Austria. Rain and snow is expected across Greece but dry and sunny today across Turkey. Dry and very cold as well across Poland, Belarus, The Baltic States into Russia and the Ukraine with snow into southern Romania. Snow flurries are expected for Finland with a bitterly cold but dry and sunny day across Sweden and Norway.

Sunday

A cold day again across Spain and Portugal. There will be some sunshine through central and southern France, the cold conditions prevailing again. To the north cloud will be thicker, producing some outbreaks of rain. Cloud and some rain in the Low Countries and northern Germany too, this turning to sleet for some. Much of central Germany and Poland should be dry with sunny spells. Low pressure east of Italy brings anunsettled day here with cold conditions and more rain, sleet and snow affecting many central and southern areas. Milder over Greece and Turkey. To the north low pressure brings cloud and outbreaks of rain through Sweden. Finland and the baltic States should be dry with sunny spells. A few wintry showers affecting western Norway, but the south should be drier and brighter.

It should be a dry day across Austria and Hungary as well as southern parts of Germany. More northern parts of Germany and the Low Countries are likely to be seeing more cloud and a brisker wind here. To the south cloud and rain will be affecting the southern parts of Italy with cloud and some outbreaks of rain here. Northern Italy should be dry and bright. A fair day for most of Greece and Turkey with more sunshine to come here. A southwest flow through most of Scandinavia brings fronts eastwards with it. This gives rain to Norway and Denmark. Further rain across Sweden, and this extending into Finland and the Baltic States too.

Thursday

Fine with plenty of sunshine through Portugal and Spain today. Sunny for southern France too, although cloud and some drizzle affecting the far north of France. There will be breezier conditions for the Low Countries and Germany as well as Poland with more persistent rain. Italy will have some fog patches in the north at first, but these clearing to sunny spells. Thicker cloud in the far south of Italy with some rain at times. Today

It will be very windy cross the North Sea into southern parts of Scandinavia through Poland with strong winds to gale force. Strong easterly winds also will continue to blow Through the Straits of Gibraltar. It becomes cooler across the United Kingdom as a band of light rain spreads down across England into the northern parts of France And across the Low Countries through northern parts of Germany and Poland. Southern parts of France will remain dry as will the far south of Germany. Some heavy snow showers will affect western parts of Norway and northern parts of Sweden, otherwise a dry day across Norway and Sweden with sunny spells. Outbreaks of snow will clear Finland in the morning but more snow is in the forecast across all of Russia into eastern parts of the Ukraine. A mixture of rain and snow is expected across the Baltic States with rain moving into western parts of the Ukraine. Some light rain and snow is forecast for Romania today while it looks mainly fair and dry across the former Yugoslavia south into Bulgaria and Greece along with Turkey still a few heavy showers to come south Greece towards Crete. Another fine, dry and mostly sunny day is expected from Italy across Corsica, Sardinia, the Balearics and westward through Spain and Portugal.

Saturday

Continued quite windy with gales across the North Sea into western Russia. Expect some patchy light rain across England, northern parts of France into southern parts of Germany. Dry with good sunny spells across southern parts of France in this fine weather will extend down across Italy is to the former Yugoslavia and across into Greece and southern parts of Turkey. Northern parts of Turkey will be colder and windy with outbreaks of rain and mix with snow. Fair and dry across Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary, while outbreaks of heavy snow are forecast for the Baltic States, Belarus, most of Russia and Finland. High pressure remains through much of central and western Europe through today. This brings plenty of sunshine through Spain and Portugal as well as France. However, there could be a few showers over southwestern Portugal. Dry weather through Italy where there will be lots of sunshine. Cooler and bright over Greece and Turkey. Much of central Europe will be fine with sunny spells in the Low Countries as well as Germany. Some showers in Poland. Fine through Hungary and Switzerland as well as Austria. Cloud and periods of rain passing through Norway and into Sweden. Fair for Denmark with some sunny spells here. More cloud and some showers or outbreaks of rain for the Baltic States and Finland.

Friday

Fair again for Iberia today with lots of sunshine to come. More sunshine in France too, although there could be some morning fog patches here. Early fog patches too across Switzerland, Hungary and Austria as well as Germany, but these should be clearing with some sunny spells developing. Italy should have a fine spring day with lots of sunshine here. That sunshine extends into Greece where it is going to be remaining dry. A chilly day in Greece with sunny spells here. Cloudier conditions in Bulgaria and Romania. A cold plunger through the Baltic States and Finland will be bringing wintry showers, some of them heavy at times. Snow showers for Sweden too. Norway should be drier, as will be Denmark with some sunny spells and dry conditions.

Expect a very cold and very windy day across Russia and the Baltic States with outbreaks of snow while outbreaks of rain are expected across Poland, Belarus and into the western Ukraine. Heavy snow will affect the eastern Ukraine, and this will extend down across into the eastern parts of Turkey. Cloudy with outbreaks of rain and snow across parts of Romania today. Lots a fine, dry and mostly sunny weather will dominate much of the western and central parts of Europe today. Morning fog patches will clear to sunny spells across France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, and Denmark. Fine and dry as well across the former Yugoslavia and the Czech Republic. Lots of sunshine to come across Greece, into Bulgaria, Hungary and Italy. Mild, but rather cloudy and dry across the United Kingdom with lots of sunshine expected across Norway, Sweden and Finland.

Saturday

Very windy with strong south south westerly gales expected up through the North Sea today. Windy as well with strong north to northwest winds prevailing from western Russia down through the Baltic states into the Black Sea. Rather windy as well today around the Balearics. An area of rain is expected to move in across western parts of the United Kingdom, into western France and into the north-western parts of Iberia. Much of Spain, though looks to be fair and dry with a good deal of cloud and some sunny spells. Dry as well across the eastern half of France and across in two Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark and Germany. Dry with sunny spells as well for all of Poland, the Baltic States, Hungary and the former Yugoslavia. Snow showers affect western Norway but dry and sunny across eastern Norway into Sweden and Finland. More snow to fall across Russia into eastern Turkey. Dry across western Turkey with heavy rain and showers across Greece into Italy. Lots of dry weather into Bulgaria, Hungry, the former Yugoslavia and Romania. It remains fine and dry across Portugal and Spain with sunny spells. Snow is expected across Switzerland and Austria today. Very windy day across the south of France into the central Mediterranean with showers from the Balearics eastward into the eastern Mediterranean.

Wednesday

An area of gales will affect the United Kingdom, the coasts of Belgium and the Netherlands, and up and into the North Sea. Strong easterly winds will also prevail through the Straits of Gibraltar. An area of rain is expected across much of Britain today and as this moves east, it turns to snow across Norway. An area of high pressure will give Sweden, Finland, most of Russia, the Baltic area, and Belarus dry day of sunny spells. A cold day across the Ukraine with outbreaks of snow and this snow is expected to extend down across the eastern part of Turkey.

Outbreaks of snow are also expected across Bulgaria with a dry, sunny day expected for Romania, the former Yugoslavia, the Czech Republic and Hungary. Western parts of Turkey will be dry except for the odd shower while outbreaks of rain spread in across much of Greece. Rain to is expected across Sicily with a mixture of sunshine and showers across Italy a few of these could be wintry. Lots of heavy showers will be found from Sicily across into Sardinia and near the Balearics. For Portugal and Spain expect a fine dry day with good sunny spells and this fine weather is expected to extend up across all of France into Germany, Belgium, Holland and Denmark. The best sunshine in western Europe, but some rain in the north and east

Friday

High pressure is going to be bringing lots of sunshine through Portugal and Spain today. More sunshine for the west of France, but the south could see showers and a brisk northeast wind. Some cloud and spots for rain across northern France and into the Low Countries, with more cloud and some outbreaks of rain in northern Germany and Poland. For Italy the day will be cool and breezy. There will be sunny spells, the best of them to the west. Cloud and some outbreaks of rain will be affecting Greece, with more cloud over the north of Turkey. Fair with plenty of sunshine for Bulgaria and Romania.For northern Europe it will be a windy day. The jet stream is reestablished and this is going to be blowing fronts eastwards through Scandinavia, bringing cloud and rain here. The rain and cloud could be heavy at times.

Saturday

Low pressure to the south of Italy on Saturday bringing strong winds, cloud and rain through southern Italy. There will be cloud and some showery rain through Greece, this extending into the central parts of Turkey too. Fair for Spain and Portugal with lots of sunshine here. France is going to be dry and largely sunny. Cloud and a few showers affecting the Low Countries and northern Germany as well as Poland. More southern parts of Germany and Poland as well as Austria and Hungary will be dry with some good spells of sunshine. Wind, cloud and some outbreaks of rain blowing through Norway and Sweden, as well as Denmark and Finland. There will be periods of rain, some of them, heavy at times. Greece will be rather cloudy with outbreaks of rain, most to the south where it will be windy too. Turkey is bright with sunny spells. Bulgaria should be dry and cool with sunny spells, although cloud and rain will be reaching Romania. To the north conditions are going to be more unsettled. There will be snow showers across Finland and the Baltic States where it will be feeling cold. Fair for much of Sweden, but cloud and rain spreading to Denmark and Norway.

Again a large, strong cell of high pressure is going to keep it fine, settled and dry from Spain across France into the Low Countries, and through Denmark and Germany. Here expect some morning fog patches to clear too long sunny spells. A similar day too across the United Kingdom. That area of light rain will fall across Poland down through parts of Hungary with the risk of some snow and rain across Romania today. Cold and windy with snow and snow showers expected across Turkey with lots of showers across that eastern part of the Mediterranean. Fine and sunny across Greece, Bulgaria, and up through the former Yugoslavia into the Czech Republic and across into all of Italy today. Sunny too across Switzerland and Austria. It's another windy, cold day with further outbreaks of snow across Russia, although it looks dry across Finland down through the Baltic States and into Belarus and the western part of the Ukraine. Snow showers will affect the eastern Ukraine today. Fair and dry across Norway. Today cloudier across Sweden with a few spots of rain.

Friday

Some heavy showers moving through Portugal and Spain during today. The showers could be thundery at times. France should be dry with sunny spells developing, and it should be a fair and dry day too through the Low Countries and into Germany and Poland. High pressure south of Italy brings a fair day here with more sunshine to come throughout. There will be sunny spells over Greece, with showers or outbreraks of rain slipping south through Turkey. Bulgaria and Romania will be dry with sunny spells. Northern Europe is more unsettled with cloud and outbreaks of rain spreading eastwards across the UK and into Scandninavia. It could be breezy here too.
