:yahoo: The radar for folk around my neck of the woods is livening up alright, but will it go boom? :diablo:

Thundery Cheers

Edit: Look out SouthWest of Oxford & another cell NorthEast of Reading.

I think we are breeding ground rather than the benefactor today, really need something to explode in the New Forest, Salisbury Plain area.

seems to be cells kicking off now in the south - presumably due to the increase in cape and misture pooiling where the winds are converging - the WRF NMM was predicting something like 700kj cape in a narrow region stretching NE up the country for 16:00 onwards -

I haven't actually seen the paper myself but is it true the Sun newspaper forecasted 'vicious' thunderstorms for the UK today/tomorrow/thursday?

I expect you are spot on but isn't it good to even see some potential. :whistling:

Gravesend obs are for 27C, and DP's are likely to be above the 13C required to initiate! Here's hoping .... :)

Farnborough obs 26C/16C giving a Theta-W of ~23C which means moist air convection has started so LI comes into play and maybe tap into some of that CAPE. Good luck!

Thanks, Paul - better than xcweather ;)

Rochester: 26T/12D = 21W. Not enough

Salsbury: 24T/14D = 21W. Not enough

Still time, still time - as long as the moistness comes along.

The skies are taking on a stormy look in this area. Temp 27.8c, DP 17.8c, making it very uncomfortable to say the least

( Northwood- NW London )

Should be pushing up a sizeable number of columns?

Difficult to tell mate., its all a bit messy out there at the moment cloudwise. Decidedly uncomfortable though with those temps and DP's

Something towering ESE of London, which I've just seen from Westminster Bridge in a cab. This appears to be the pokey little cell on radar.

Further to earlier posts, I am indeed in a suit and tie and conditions are to say the least, less than fresh!! Lol

I'd say the strike I filmed from El Gordo was at least that close.

Sorry that you might be getting a bit annoyed but if you read my post again you will note that my query was more about why the "North East" in particular has seen so much in the way of activity this year. I don't recall saying anything along the lines of the South East getting everything which is what I have occasionally seen posted in these forums now and again.

yea i read your post again! I apologise

Surprised not more is being said about the rash of convection kicking off ATM!!

Currently 29.5C in the shade with convection building - how far it will go will be seen
