Guest Kent-Weather

I'm off work tomorrow (well, in fact, the week :good: ) - is it seriously worth staying up and radar watching...?

Probably not. Fear this will be more coastal then anything with heavy rain for the rest of us

Thing is though Harry, is it just heavy rain, or could it produce a storm?

Aaahhh now there's a question!!

Sadly I lost Mother Nature's business card otherwise I'd give her a bell and find out :D

Lol just noticed too on NW radar that the precip is forming a heart shape across the SE...is that a subliminal message of is Mother Nature mocking us?

Perhaps the first indication that sferics have made landfall. They seem to have be reluctant to come inland and meet me for a cup of cocoa.

Well, I'm off to bed - no doubt this has increased the chances of my fellow SE members to witness a storm that I sleep through!

It is years since a decent storm woke me up - must be 3-4 years if not more... :(

:unknw:Hahaha, how many times have you mistaken a wheelie bin or aeroplane for a rumble of thunder? :unknw:

Nooo!! The first was most definately real. But the deep rumbling i have just heard was the neighbour putting out their bin....at this time???

Still raining pretty heavily.

Just rain here so off to bed, fingers crossed for being woken up in the early hours by a proper storm (51% chance apparently!)

This is painfully slow radar watching here in Nw London, might have to call it a night soon. The all elusive night time lightning shot looks set to remain just that.......elusive !!

Know exactly what you mean. It's moving nowhere fast! Seems like it's gonna be a couple of hours before it gets within distance of me

Radar Animation - created it with a speed just right! this is sundays Met Office radar images through the day into the night.

let it load then it would play quite quick.(you may need to let it play through all time/images first then 2nd loop would play fast loop!)

late evening gave me an intense downpour, it was impressive and one of the heaviest this season! oh and a couple of distance flashes sw.
