Surreal here is all I can say.

Clear skies overhead with Persoids shooting across the sky from NW To SW - A Setting Moon in the Southern Sky with flashing Lightning further to the South :lol: :lol:

Just seen part of the cloud shield to the south light up with lightning - from here in south London B)

No exactly frequent - but nice to be able to see storms at night even if they are some distance away!

Sure it's not an aircraft strobe light? lool!

The MetOffice Charts are almost accurate. Look at this overlay I just created.

First flashes and rumbles have been spotted to my west - probably closer to Southampton / New Forest. Very intermittant and damned impossible to photograph (I've been hanging out the loft window trying!) Started at approx 2115hrs. Nothing now though :cray:

I think a trip further South tonight may be on the cards. If this is gonna head NE I'm pondering of getting myself down to the coast (felixstowe) Do you think it will be worth it?

Aye, the half moon was out but has now disappeared under a glaciated cloud shield. That would be one of the ultimate chaser's shot with the moon above a cloud lit up by lightning.

Got my eye on those intense echoes over the New Forest/Southampton areas, seem to be moving NE atm, question is will they hold inland to the London area?

Just on my way back from chichester after being stuck in a bl**dy cinema on the one night storms call in my home town grr. Lightning seen here a few mins ago :)

Seeing frequent Flashing from the Brighton Storm which is now being seen by a poster from Clacton which is NE From Me.

Oh my good lord! I was sat here. 1 fork lightning (not on strike alert) and thunder less than a mile away to the south. Massive rumble. Scared me half to death!!

Oh here goes another ... massive crack over head!

i'm scared and i'm all lone! Should get off the internet if it kills me router my man will kill me!

Lower cloud feeding in here now so not seeing this beautiful flashes others are privvy to! Wouldnt mind but I'm only about 10 miles or so SW of Paul, lol!

Well it deffo ain't decent. It's gone all quiet again. Bout 5 flashes and same rumbles or so. 1 very close - 1 bang over head - rest distant..
