Have You Put Your Heating On Yet ?

I must admit it felt a bit 'nippy' last night so switched the heating on for an hour.

Usually its her in doors that does that and a fair bit later in the season.

Not yet....... but it has been serviced ready!

We normally try to last until October by using the living room fire in the evenings but as we have a problem with the chimney flue we can't use the fire until its fixed so I might have to put it on for an hour or so in the evenings soon and just turn the bedroom rads off for now !!

Nope, still have the windows open all night, I love this time of year when you can get fresh air in the house of a night!

My wife felt it cold a few mornings last week so the thermostat was set at 18c, it's kicked in on one morning but only for a brief

time! The house is still comfortably at 21c or thereabouts even on dull days, come the late Autumn it'll be much different to that

in the lounge which is N/E facing.

Oh aye but have the thermostat low. Heating comes on for an hour in the morning and a couple of hours in the evening. Then I resort to blankets haha. Around 20c is comfortable for me. With the recent hikes in bills I'm trying to be really careful.

It's not cold enough for us to put ours on yet. It's way too expensive to use (and I thought combi condensing boilers were supposed to be efficient!). it's reserved for the coldest of times.

had mine on a couple of times over the last 2 weeks.i dont use the timer gadget,just switch it on when i feel like it,indoor temp here is 19.5c and it'll need to drop afewmore degrees before i'd think a bout switching it on.

keep active to raise ya inner core temp.central heating is for wimps or the old.

Have not had the heating on yet,its been a fairly mild september so far with a lack of cool nights.

Umm, no, because it's not even cold, lol. Temperature throughout the house is still around 21C so no need for heating yet.

Our house is an old stone farmhouse and starts to feel damp as much as cold.

Good thing is we have ample dead wood to burn although I hesitate to call it free as gathering it is hard work and uses fuel in chainsaw and tractor to get it undercover.

So have been lighting the stove about now for the last week or so most days - lots of hot water for next day from doing that, so don't use electricity.

I refuse to do it until November at the earliest!

I personally love the cold and rarely even bother wearing a jacket in the winter, For some reason I always feel hot / warm..

No, I refuse to put the heating on until the big six (eon/british gas/npower et al) cut their prices and stop lining their filthy foreign pockets with our hard earned money, I'd rather freeze to death than allow them to fleece me any more!.....end of rant!

no heating on yet, not sure when we will need to, i read on theweatheroutlook we are in for an indian summer, then i see the front of a newspaper and it read snow its on its way in october.

Not yet, our house is well insulated and the plasma TV we have puts out a lot of heat.

Yep, we're in a 'no heating 'til 1st November' family too! Last year it did just come on in the last week of October on some of the frosty mornings, but generally we just shut all the windows and walk around in dressing gowns if we get cold.

When I move into my student house, the same rule will undoubtedly follow!

I live in a hole of a council flat thats in dire need of new double glazing and draft proofing so yep, my heatings been on and off since about 6 weeks ago. The good thing is, I had a brand spanking new Eco Heating system fitted a few months back so I dont need it on too much.. YET

I know what you mean, I put the heating on before I have a shower so it's nice and warm when I get out plus the towel is warm
